  • Patent number: 10118434
Abstract: A holder for holding at least two utensils to an external surface. The holder includes a base having front and back faces, and a top, bottom and two side edges; a connector coupled to the back face of the base and adapted to be connected to the external surface; and a ledge having top and bottom faces and top, bottom and two side edges. The ledge back face is adhered to the front face of the base. The ledge is pivotal with respect to the base so that the top and bottom faces are substantially perpendicular to the base. The top, bottom or both ledge faces are adapted to connect to a utensil. A method of using the holder to hold a writing instrument and pad of note papers is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8083483
Abstract: A wheel-type of moving water energy conversion device consists of a limited number of paddles or blades attached to struts, which are secured to a central axis or geared drive shaft. The paddles or blades are hinged to the struts in a unique underneath forward position, allowing the paddle or blade to enter water in an energy conversion, flat plane and exit from water in vertical non-water lifting position. The utilization of extension arms securing paddles, the limitation of engineered positioning of paddles and the design of free paddle exit from water, provide a uniquely efficient energy conversion device for use in moving waters, such as rivers, streams, tidal flows or lake and ocean waves and currents. The device may be engineered as a low profile, rotary barrage type, with paddles or blades positioned on struts with or without telescopic arms.

  • Patent number: 7607862
Abstract: A device for converting the energy of water waves or flowing water into electrical or mechanical energy. The device includes a body or collection chamber with a hydro-turbine located opposite the water entrance and, preferably, a water clear out channel flange located beneath the hydro-turbine and at or upstream of the water exhaust from the device. As the water is channeled by wave facing directional blades and a wave leveler through and exits the hydro-turbine or pump, it has free exit into a water void area which is produced by the deep water, with its own flotation apparatus or moorings, or near shore, held by supports secured to the seabed or other structures. The device also exhibits a “tip up, tip down” synchronous motion as wave fronts advance through and passed the device, which increases the efficiency of the device by accelerating the flow of water therethrough.

  • Patent number: 6170426
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for producing dry, wet or partially wet and partially dry segments of tissues. The tissue dispenser generally comprises a housing having a tissue egress passage, a tissue source of a predetermined quantity of dry tissue located in the housing, a fluid source of a predetermined volume of fluid located in the housing, and an actuatable application mechanism in fluid communication with the fluid source and operationally positioned proximate to the tissue egress passage. The application mechanism can be actuated to dispense fluid onto the tissue as the tissue passes through the tissue egress passage. A partially wet and partially dry tissue can be used to clean and dry an article. The tissue may generally comprise a cleansing pad having an impermeable membrane positioned between two tissue segments to form a wet tissue area and a dry tissue area. The impermeable membrane prevents fluid from bleeding into the dry tissue area. The tissue may also comprise a pad attached to a bubble of fluid.

  • Patent number: 6085899
Abstract: A tissue dispenser for dispensing either dry or partially wet and partially dry segments of tissues. One partially wet and partially dry tissue can be used to clean and dry an article. The dispenser will dispense dry tissues if the application mechanism is not actuated while the tissue passes through the egress passage.

  • Patent number: 4553678
Abstract: A safety cap assembly for bottles is of the type which permits unscrewing only when the cap is axially depressed and rotated to unscrew it, thereby disengaging a locking mechanism from a container thread abutment. This "push to turn" requirement makes the cap difficult for a child to remove. When the cap is rotated to unscrew it, a tamper film is marked or scored which mark is clearly visible through a clear area of the cap or through an aperture to indicate tampering. In addition, the locking mechanism is arranged to permit removal of elements which render the locking mechanism inoperative. This permits the cap to be used in a normal manner by persons that may have arthritis or other crippling diseases. Further, the cap may be utilized as a tamper indicating means alone without the child resistant feature for edible foodstuffs and liquids.
