  • Publication number: 20170134127
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods provide signaling start of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbols for MTC UE. An apparatus is provided for use in an OFDM wireless system, wherein the system supports transmissions of OFDM signals over a frequency band and includes a network component that communicates with the apparatus. The apparatus includes a receiver configured to receive signals in a narrowband within the frequency band, the narrowband having a narrower bandwidth than the frequency band, and a decoder configured to decode an indicator channel within the narrowband to determine a starting OFDM symbol for control and/or data information intended for the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7206577
Abstract: Disclosed is a UE and a method to operate the UE in the Site Selection Diversity Transmit mode. The method includes detecting a case where no base station is transmitting to the UE; inserting predetermined values into a received signal; and decoding the predetermined values. The predetermined values preferably correspond to zero bits.
