  • Patent number: 7734647
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a virtual private network (VPN) gateway server 10 providing rules for wireless access over a secure tunnel connection to a corporate network 20. The corporate network 20 is protected by firewall functionality, with different access configurations for different remote users. The VPN gateway server 10 includes a user database 15 which provides rules specific for each user for the access to the corporate network 20 using the secure tunnel. The rules include specific sets of TCP ports associated with respective specific users. The gateway server 10 limits an authenticated user's access to the corporate network 20, which access is performed by means of the tunnel connection provided by the gateway server 10, to the associated allowed TCP server ports.

  • Patent number: 5131324
Abstract: An on-machine calender device intended to be on-line connected to a paper machine. The calender comprises a number of subsequent calendering nips, through which the web (W) to be calendered can be passed. The nips are formed between a soft calender roll and a hard calender roll or between two soft calender rolls. The calender is composed of one or several, for example two, subsequent calender modules (M.sub.1, M.sub.2). The modules comprise one counter-roll (10, 20) and at least two soft calendering rolls (11, 12, 13; 21, 22, 23), which are placed at both sides of the counter-roll (10, 20) in the direction of running of the web (W). The calender rolls (10, 11, 12, 13;20, 21, 22, 23) are dispaceable in relation to each other so that the threading of the web (W) can be carried out as a straight run, for which purpose an open passage is opened through the calender.

  • Patent number: 5038678
Abstract: The invention concerns a calender, in particular a supercalender, on whose frame (1) a set of rolls (2) is mounted, which comprises an upper roll (3), a lower roll (4), and several intermediate rolls (5) placed between the upper roll and the lower roll. The rolls (3, 4, 5) are supported on the frame (1) by the intermediate structure of the base parts (34, 47, 54) being vertically displaceable along guides (7) provided in the frame. Of the base parts, at least the base parts (54) of the intermediate rolls can be positioned in the vertical direction by means of lifting spindles (6) provided in the frame (1) and by means of spindle nuts (56) provided on the spindle. The base parts (54) of the intermediate rolls are supported on the lifting spindles (6) being vertically displaceable by means of pressure-medium operated relief devices (57) arranged between the base parts (54) and the spindle nuts (56) to reduce the journal loads on the rolls (5).

  • Patent number: 4936207
Abstract: A supercalender comprises a stationary variable-crown upper roll (1), a floating variable-crown lower roll (2), several intermediate rolls (3,4) between the upper roll (1) and the lower roll (2), and a hydraulic control system. The upper roll (1) has a roll mantle (12) that is supported on the roll shaft (11) by hydrostatic loading elements (13) acting in the direction of compression and by end bearings at the ends of the roll mantle, which bearings prevent displacement of the mantle (12) ends in the radial direction relative to the shaft (11) of the upper roll. The lower roll (2) has a roll mantle (22) that is supported on the roll shaft (21) adjustably in the direction of compression by means of hydrostatic loading elements (23). Position detectors (23,31) are provided at the ends of the shaft of at least one roll.

  • Patent number: 4721266
Abstract: The present invention relates to a continuously running rewinder with a pressure roller for winding a paper web, for instance, from a supercalender onto a reel-up drum. The rewinder comprises roll stands, which are provided with a primary drive for rotating a rewinding reel-up drum, a pressure roller assembly including the pressure roller via which the web is routed to pass before entering the rewinding reel-up drum and which can be actuated to swing from an open position to a closed position toward the roll stands so that the pressure roller assembly is pressed against the rewinding reel-up drum to form with it a nip for the web. The rewinder includes a pressing bar, whose path of movement is adapted to pass between the pressure roller and the rewinding reel-up drum and via which the web is routed to pass so that when the bar is in its lower position and the pressure roller assembly in its open position the bar holds the web at a lower level than that of the nip.
