Abstract: A modular, preferably reusable planter that is adapted to be selectively moved between: (1) a first orientation in which the planter is substantially in the shape of flower pot; and (2) a second orientation in which: (a) the planter's sidewall is separated into multiple parts so that the sidewall can be separated from vegetation and the soil holding the vegetation's roots without disturbing the roots and soil, and (b) the various parts of the planter's sidewall are separated from the planter's base. The modular planter may include one or more fasteners, such as an elastomeric loops or hook-and-loop fasteners, that are configured to selectively maintain the modular planter in the first orientation, and to allow an individual to optionally quickly release the fastener so that they can quickly move the planter into the second orientation and remove vegetation and its roots and soil from the planter's interior.
