Abstract: An apparatus in connection with wire water treatment in the approach system of a paper machine, board machine or corresponding web formation machine, which apparatus includes a deaeration tank connected to devices for generating a vacuum inside the deaeration tank. At least one wire water feed pipe extends into the tank, which pipe opens into a vacuum space above the liquid surface level in the tank. A wire water discharge duct is connected to the bottom part of the tank. The feed pipe extends above the liquid level in the tank so that the wire water overflows the edge of the feed pipe onto the liquid level in the tank and the wire water discharge conduit extends downward and is connected to a pump.

Abstract: An arrangement and a rotor for screening of pulp is disclosed that is suitable for the screening of chemical and mechanical pulps, i.e. fiber suspensions of the wood processing industry. A feature of the arrangement and rotor is that inside the rotor (16) there is arranged at least one dilution liquid chamber (24′, 24″, 24′″) restricted by a surface of the rotor (16), which surface is provided with means for connecting said at least one chamber (24′, 24″, 24′″) with the screening space defined between the rotor and the screen drum in such a way that dilution liquid from said at least one chamber (24′, 24″, 24′″) is brought into the screening space at a distance of at least 20 mm from the inner surface of the screen drum (14).

Abstract: A disc filter assembly includes a number of filter discs mounted in a vat by a horizontal shaft with an inter-disc volume between the discs. A feed mechanism is provided that makes it possible to feed the pulp suspension onto the surface of the liquid, directed toward the most concentrated pulp in the vat, in such a manner that the feed is insensitive to fluctuations of the suspension surface level in the vat. This is accomplished by feeding the suspension into the vat interior directly into each of the inter-disc volumes, as by using a chute (which may have the approximate configuration of a hollow triangular parallelepiped) for each volume. A header for supplying pulp suspension to the chutes may be mounted on or spaced from the sidewall of the vat, or above the vat.

Abstract: A disc filter used in the pulp and paper industry meets modern requirements by axially dividing the tank and shaft (with the flow channels) into at least two separate and distinct portions, so that the treatment of pulp in several different stages using the same disc filter is possible.

Abstract: A disc filter (and disc filter constructed from a number of sectors) includes a filter member and a supporting structure. The supporting structure is formed by two opposed perforated plates which each have at least about 70% flat supporting portions which separate recess portions (which typically extend radially). The recess portions of each plate are welded to either supporting portions or recess portions of the other plate.
