  • Patent number: 7158489
Abstract: In TDMA systems it is possible to transmit data on more than one consecutive slot per frame. This introduces increased workloads on the power amplifier of the transmitter of the mobile station. To prevent the power amplifier from overheating, temperature sensing means are incorporated into the mobile station which output to a control system comprising a comparator and feedback means which together regulate the operation of the transmitter if the power amplifier approaches or exceeds it upper rated operating value. Thereby preventing the power amplifier from damage.

  • Patent number: 6967943
Abstract: A method of operating a time division multiple access (TDMA) radio system having multi-slot capabilities and utilizing half-duplex transmission/reception where uplink and downlink user data transmissions between a mobile station (MS) 2 and a base station (BS) 3 are made in separate TDMA frames. A greater number of time slots are allocated to the mobile station 2 in each downlink TDMA frame than in each uplink TDMA frame to improve the efficiency of radio resource allocation and of the radio module 4 of the mobile station 2.

  • Patent number: 6819937
Abstract: A method and apparatus for updating transmission power class information of a Mobile Station (MS) in a General Packet Radio Services (GPRS) network. The invention updates transmission power class information of the MS in the GPRS network by initiating a Routing Area Update (RAU) procedure in the MS. The RAU procedure includes sending from the MS to a Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) of the GPRS network a RAU request message including a MS Radio Access Capability (RAC) Information Element (IE) which includes an IE indicating a new transmission power class of the MS, accepting in the SGSN the IE indicating a new transmission power class of the MS included in the MS RAC of the RAU request message, and delivering to a Base Station (BSS) the IE indicating a new transmission power class of the MS, thereby updating the transmission power class information of the MS at the BSS.

  • Patent number: 6092298
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for a drying section of a paper machine, the arrangement comprising a fine wire (5a) and a coarse wire (5b) that are arranged to pass between metal bands (2, 3) of a band dryer (1) together with a web (4) to be dried. The coarse wire (5b) comprises a fine texture (5d) to be placed against the cooled metal band (3). Further, against the fine-textured section (5d) placed against the cooled metal band (3) there is a coarse texture (5c).

  • Patent number: 5745016
Abstract: The invention relates to a directional coupler arrangement and measurement of radio frequency electric power with a directional coupler arrangement, which arrangement comprises a directional coupler, in which a terminal impedance, a detector element and a control circuit are connected between the end of the second conductor element and the earth potential. The impedance value of the terminal impedance can be altered by means of an electric control signal and said control circuit produces said control signal on the basis of the signal provided by the detector element. When the detected power level is low, the control circuit increases the impedance value of the terminal impedance, whereby the peak voltage of the signal applied to one end of the directional coupler increases and the arrangement yields a measurement result that is larger than ordinary, which improves the accuracy and reliability of the arrangement at low power levels.

  • Patent number: 5097872
Abstract: A woven work fabric includes a first set of monofilament yarns that extend in a first direction and a second set of monofilament yarns that are interwoven with the first set of yarns and that extend in a second direction that is transverse to the first set of yarns. Each of the monofilaments in one of the sets of yarns has a cross section that has a substantially "X"-shaped configuration, and that is deformed during the weaving of the yarn sets wherein a relatively flat outer exposed surface is formed on each of the monofilament yarns in the one set of yarns.

  • Patent number: 4695015
Abstract: A spiral wire, comprising adjacent thread spirals (1) positioned in pairs with loops thereof interlapping to form transverse rows of loops in the wire, and linking threads (2) inserted in the rows of loops. The opposite ends of the spiral wire are interconnected by means of a seam thread (2A) into an endless wire. In order to make it easier to insert the seam thread, a clearance (X) is provided between the interlapping loops (1Aa) of the two spirals (1A) forming the seam position, which clearance extends in the direction of the seam thread so that the loops are able to yield with respect to each other in that direction. The spirals of the seam portion are preferably made of a thinner thread, a thread having a flat cross-section or interconnected with a sparser spacing of the loops.

  • Patent number: 4681287
Abstract: A spiral wire and a method of manufacturing a spiral wire comprising adjacent spirals (1) positioned in pairs with their loops (1a) intermeshing to form rows of loops in the transverse direction of the wire, and link threads (2) inserted in the rows. The wire is subjected to thermal fixation by simultaneous stretching and heating thereof. In order to fix the loops axially immovably on the link threads, the link thread is formed by a core thread (3) provided with a coating (4) deformable at a lower temperature than the core thread. During the thermal fixation, the coating softens and is pressed from under the loops into the spaces between the loops and the coating is provided with grooves (5) for fixing of the loops without deformation of the core thread.
