  • Publication number: 20250126547
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques described herein provide assisted access to a serving cell for wireless communications. A UE may receive a broadcast system information message from the first cell. The broadcast system information message may include system information usable for communicating with the second cell. Using the received system information, the UE may transmit, to the first cell, a random access channel (RACH) preamble message in order to establish a connection with the second cell. The first cell may transmit, to the second cell in response to receiving the RACH preamble message, a wake-up signal.

  • Publication number: 20250126651
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a broadcast system information (SI) message from a first cell, wherein the broadcast SI message includes SI for connecting to a second cell. The broadcast SI message may include a synchronization signal block (SSB) message, a system information block (SIB) message, a master information block (MIB) message, or any combination thereof. The UE may then transmit a random access channel (RACH) message to the first cell or the second cell based on receiving the SI included within the broadcast SI message, and perform a random access procedure with the second cell to establish a wireless connection with the second cell based on transmitting the RACH message. Subsequently, the UE may communicate one or more messages with the second cell based on the random access procedure.

  • Publication number: 20250008404
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network-controlled repeater (NCR) node may obtain measurements related to backhaul links between the NCR node and network nodes that forward radio frequency (RF) signals through the NCR node and to an access link between the NCR node and a user equipment (UE). The end-to-end link quality between the UE and each network node may be estimated (for example, by the NCR node or a current serving cell) in accordance with the measurements and a gain and/or transmit power used to forward RF signals, and the current serving cell may use the estimated end-to-end link quality to arrive at handover decisions for the UE.

  • Publication number: 20250008025
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the techniques described herein may support balancing of system usage costs with performance. For example, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a usage cost message indicating usage costs associated with each unique set of operating parameters supported by the UE, including a first set of operating parameters associated with a first usage cost and a second set of operating parameters associated with a second usage cost. Each set of operating parameters may further be associated with a respective quantity of receive beams of the UE for operating according to the respective set of operating parameters. Additionally, the UE may receive an indication for the UE to operate according to the first set of operating parameters or the second set of operating parameters based on the first usage cost and the second usage cost.

  • Publication number: 20240155498
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a cell wake-up signal (WUS) indicating that a cell is to switch from operating according to a first mode to operating according to a second mode, the cell WUS including an indication of one or more communications to be transmitted by a network node associated with the cell during operation of the cell in the second mode. The UE may receive the one or more communications from the cell after transmitting the cell WUS. Numerous other aspects are provided.
