  • Publication number: 20220305722
Abstract: An apparatus for bottom-up fabrication of three dimensional objects, the apparatus comprising: a vat for a photosensitive polymer, the floor of the vat including a working surface arranged such that, in use, light incident on the working surface interacts with the photosensitive polymer at the working surface to fabricate a portion of the three dimensional object; a build platform capable of being inserted into the vat, the build platform having a planar surface; an elevator mechanism capable of adjusting the separation between the working surface of the vat and the planar surface of the build platform; and a rotation mechanism capable of varying the relative rotational position of the vat relative to the build platform, the relative rotation being about an axis which is normal to the working surface of the vat.

  • Publication number: 20220178626
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a thermal management device comprising a vapor chamber, a heat pipe in fluid communication with the vapor chamber, and a fin in thermal contact with the heat pipe. The vapor chamber may contain a first working fluid and may facilitate transfer of thermal energy from a source of thermal energy to the first working fluid. The fin may comprise a fluid flow path configured to direct a second working fluid from a first opening to a second opening. The first opening may be oriented along a first direction of flow towards the fin, and the second opening may be oriented along a second direction different than the first direction. The heat pipe may direct the first working fluid from the vapor chamber through the heat pipe and may facilitate transfer of thermal energy from the first working fluid to the fin or the second working fluid.

  • Patent number: 11161301
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system for printing a three-dimensional object. The system may comprise an open platform configured to hold a film of a viscous liquid comprising a photoactive resin. The open platform may comprise a print window. The system may comprise a deposition head comprising a nozzle in fluid communication with a source of the viscous liquid. The deposition head may be configured to move across the platform and deposit the film over the print window. The system may use multiple viscous liquids. The system may comprise an optical source that provides light through the print window for curing at least a portion of the film of the viscous liquid. The system may comprise a controller operatively coupled to direct movement of the deposition head and projection of the light, thereby printing at least a portion of the 3D object.

  • Patent number: 10935891
Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods, systems, and apparatuses relating to hardware configurations for performing multi-wavelength three dimensional (3D) printing using photoinhibition. In at least one aspect, a system for 3D printing comprises a reservoir capable of holding a liquid including a photoactive resin, a build head that undergoes relative motion within the reservoir during 3D printing of a 3D object on the build head, a light projection device that projects a photoinitiation light beam at a first wavelength into a build area within the liquid, and a plurality of light sources arranged with respect to the light projection device and the reservoir that project a plurality of photoinhibiting light beams into the build area at a second wavelength. Each of the plurality of photoinhibition light beams may be projected at a peak intensity in a different respective position in the build area.
