  • Patent number: 9877602
Abstract: A counter module system is provided, which may allow for partial or full self check-in by a passenger at a transportation facility, such as an airport. The system may comprise a counter module having multiple bays each for receiving an equipment module. An equipment module may be compatible for installation in some or all of the bays. Easy customization of equipment may be achieved by installing the desired equipment in an equipment module and then rolling the module into an open bay in the counter module. The modularity may also allow for easy access to equipment for maintenance or resupply. When a piece of equipment stops working, the module containing the equipment may be removed from the bay and either quickly repaired or replaced with another module. The system may also have features for providing proper alignment of an equipment module within a bay of the counter module.

  • Patent number: 4069085
Abstract: A method of forming apertures in a thin metal tape. Cavities having a depth of at least half of the tape thickness are first etched from one side. Etching is then carried out mainly from the other side until apertures having the desired profile have been formed. During etching the first-mentioned side, the said other side is covered with a foil of synthetic resin. Shadow mask for a color television display tube manufactured according to a similar method.

  • Patent number: 3982782
Abstract: Lifting apparatus including two pairs of opposed backing plates of curved cross section mounted for horizontal swinging movement, each plate being mounted for horizontal and vertical swinging movement. Each backing plate has a resilient seal secured thereto in the form of a continuous pneumatic tube which projects outwardly from the plate to form a cushion and a seal, and is arranged with side sections and end sections forming a suction space. When each pair of plates is moved against a cylindrical article, suction is applied to the suction space bounded by the pneumatic tube to draw the article against the latter. This also draws the article against vertical friction plates on each backing plate and located adjacent side sections of the pneumatic tube thereof.
