The support further comprises a plurality of attachment elements configured for carrying the frame and for being attached to a vehicle roof. The support is configured for being mounted on a roof of the vehicle and for carrying thereupon a gunner protection kit. The polygon is sufficiently big so as not to obstruct a top hatch of the vehicle. The ends of at least some of the beams extend beyond the polygon, and are configured for engagement with the attachment elements thereby carrying the frame by the ends.
