  • Patent number: 10581647
Abstract: An apparatus for communication includes a transmission chain, an interference suppressor and a reception chain. The transmission chain is configured to transmit a transmitted signal. The interference suppressor is configured to produce suppression signals, by filtering reference signals drawn from the transmission chain. At least one of the reference signals is filtered in a frequency domain. The reception chain is configured to receive a signal distorted by at least an attenuated and delayed replica of the transmitted signal. The transmitted signal and the received signal are (i) synchronized in time and (ii) each includes one or more subcarriers selected from a common subcarrier-resource. The reception chain is further configured to process the received signal up to selected points, to subtract the suppression signals from the received signal at the selected points to produce an interference-suppressed signal, and to recover data carried in the received signal from the interference-suppressed signal.

  • Publication number: 20200007175
Abstract: A transceiver includes a transmission chain, a reception chain, an interference suppression module and a processor. The transmission chain transmits a downstream signal to a communication network. The reception chain receives an upstream signal including (i) upstream transmissions originating by client devices, and (ii) an interference signal created by leakage and reflections of the downstream signal. The reception chain includes a configurable switch for connecting or disconnecting the upstream signal. The interference suppression module applies to the downstream signal a filter response function for generating an interference suppression signal to be subtracted from the upstream signal at a selected suppression point.

  • Patent number: 10511345
Abstract: An apparatus includes a transmitter, a receiver and a combining element. The transmitter includes multiple coupling devices coupled to a coaxial network via multiple respective ports, and is configured to transmit multiple transmit signals via the coupling devices, and to receive from the coaxial network via the multiple coupling devices multiple reception signals. The receiver is configured to receive a combined signal of the multiple reception signals, interfered by multiple respective interfering signals that originate from the multiple transmit signals, and to process the combined signal to recover data carried in the reception signals. The combining element, included in at least one of the transmitter and the receiver, is configured to receive the multiple reception signals from the respective couplers, and to generate the combined signal with a suppressed level of the interference signals by setting at least a phase of at least one of the reception signals.

  • Patent number: 10333639
Abstract: A digital synthesis channelizer includes a memory buffer and circuitry. The memory buffer stores samples of N input signals having a sampling rate Fsi. The N input signals are processed, prior to storing in the memory buffer, by an N-point time-frequency transform module. The circuitry includes at least P filters derived from a Low-Pass Filter whose stopband frequency depends on Fsi. The circuitry is configured to set a sampling time according to a predefined output sampling rate Fso=?·Fsi, ? being a predefined rate-conversion ratio, to select based on the sampling time one or more filters out of the at least P filters, and using the selected one or more filters, to generate, from at least some of the samples in the memory buffer, a filtered and interpolated output sample of an output signal that sums N digitally resampled by ? and frequency-shifted versions of the respective N input signals.

  • Patent number: 9258833
Abstract: A method for communication in a wireless device (24) includes establishing a first connection with a base station (BS-28) of a long-range wireless data network, and a second connection on a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). A time interval (96) is selected in the wireless device for communicating over the second connection. In preparation for the selected time interval, the BS is caused to refrain from scheduling data transmission from the wireless device to the BS over the first connection during the time interval, by reporting to the BS prior to the time interval that no data is pending for transmission from the wireless device. The wireless device communicates over the second connection on the WLAN during the time interval.

  • Patent number: 9237572
Abstract: A method for communication includes communicating between one or more first base stations (28A) and first wireless communication terminals (32A) using a first alternating pattern (56) of downlink time intervals and uplink time intervals. A time offset is selected between the first alternating pattern and a second alternating pattern (60), which is used by one or more second base stations (28B) for communicating with second wireless communication terminals (32B), so as to minimize impact of interference between the first and second wireless communication terminals. The first base stations are synchronized relative to the second base stations according to the selected time offset.

  • Patent number: 9036569
Abstract: A method for communication includes allocating, in a multiple-access communication system (20) that uses multiple subcarriers, first subcarriers to a first communication terminal for transmitting first data, and second subcarriers to a second communication terminal for transmitting second data. The first communication terminal is assigned to modulate the first data onto at least some of the first subcarriers using a first multi-carrier modulation scheme, to produce a first signal. The second communication terminal is assigned to modulate the second data onto at least some of the second subcarriers using a second multi-carrier modulation scheme, which has a reduced peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) relative to the first multi-carrier modulation scheme, to produce a second signal. Simultaneous communication is carried out with the first and second communication terminals by simultaneously receiving the first and second signals over the first and second subcarriers.

  • Patent number: 8462746
Abstract: A terminal (24) for use in a wireless network (20) includes a radio frequency (RF) receiver (30), which is configured to receive and downconvert a RF signal. The RF signal includes downlink frames, each downlink frame including at least an allocation zone followed by a data zone. The allocation zone contains an indication of a time allocation in the data zone during which downlink data will be transmitted to the terminal. An analog/digital (A/D) converter (36) converts the output signal from the RF receiver into a stream of digital samples. A digital processing circuit (40, 52, 54, 56) processes the digital samples so as to identify the time allocation and to recover the downlink data transmitted during the identified time allocation, while shutting down the RF receiver during at least one interval during the downlink frame that is outside the identified time allocation.
