  • Patent number: 9734936
Abstract: A cable is provided for suspending a down hole pump that has a core with at least one tube for the transport of fluid and at least one conductor covered with an insulation layer made of a high temperature resistant insulating material. The core is covered by a steel tape and a first layer of steel wires are positioned radially outside the steel tape in contact with the steel tape. The wires of the first layer of steel wires are positioned side by side around the core with no filler in between the steel wires and an outer layer made of heat resistant polymer covers the steel wires.

  • Publication number: 20150107868
Abstract: The present invention provides an electrical conductor (1) comprising a core of multiple stranded bare wires (2) and an insulating layer (4) surrounding the core, wherein substantially all interstices and/or spaces (3) between the bare wires are filled with a water immiscible viscous fluid (4), such as a jelly or gel; and a method for manufacturing such a conductor.

  • Patent number: 5444184
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for transmitting communication signals and electrical power on a cable between two spaced apart locations, for example between a land based control center and an offshore installation. The communication signals are transmitted over at least two twisted pairs The conductors of each twisted pair are connected in parallel to constitute a power conductor. The communication and power transmissions are separated by transformers. The invention also relates to a cable for performing the method. The cable includes at least two power conductors, each being constituted by one pair of twisted insulated conductors, enclosed within an insulation sheath and outer armor and corrosion protection.
