  • Publication number: 20100304906
Abstract: In a roller chain or rollerless bushing chain for transmission of power, hollow connecting pins are swaged to the plates of the outer links. Each pin has at least one oil conducting passage extending from its hollow interior to its exterior whereby lubricating oil can flow through the pin from the ends thereof and into the clearance between the pin and its surrounding bushing.

  • Publication number: 20100137088
Abstract: The invention provides a transmission chain including inner plates, bushings, outer plates, and a cylindrical hollow pin capable of supplying lubricant oil on a outer circumference of the pin across the whole area of the longitudinal direction of the pin when a chain is in operation, even when the chain is tensioned.

  • Patent number: 7121969
Abstract: In a roller chain, the outside diameters D of the rollers and the outside diameters d of the pins extending through bushings on which the rollers are disposed satisfy the relationships 0.72P?D?0.79P and 0.40P?d?0.44P where P is the pitch of the roller chain. The height H of the inner plates of the chain satisfies the relationship 0.96P?H. The elongation ratio of the chain is significantly reduced, and improvements in breaking strength of the pin and in the rotational fatigue of the chain are realized. Consequently wear resistance, strength, and endurance of the chain are significantly improved, making the chain suitable for use as a timing chain in an engine that rotates at high speed.

  • Publication number: 20040171450
Abstract: In a roller chain, the outside diameters D of the rollers and the outside diameters d of the pins extending through bushings on which the rollers are disposed satisfy the relationships 0.72P≦D≦0.79P and 0.40P≦d≦0.44P where P is the pitch of the roller chain. The height H of the inner plates of the chain satisfies the relationship 0.96P≦H.

  • Publication number: 20030195074
Abstract: In a silent chain comprising guide link plates, connecting pins fixed to pin holes of the guide link plates, and toothed inner link plates, and wherein connecting pins fit loosely in the pin holes of the inner link plates, the base material of the inner link plates is an austenite stainless steel, a martensite stainless steel, a precipitation-hardening steel, a high-carbon chromium bearing steel or an alloy tool steel, and is subjected to heat curing. The inner walls of the pin holes are coated with TiN, CrN, DLC, Al2O3, Mo, TiAlN, TiC, TiCN, AlN, Si3N4, SiC or NiP. The surface of each connecting pin is coated with a metallic hard coating containing at least one element selected from Cr, V, Nb, Ti, Zr, Ta, Mo and W. The base material of the connecting pins and the base material of the inner link plates are different from each other.

  • Publication number: 20030192299
Abstract: A wear resistant chain, which smoothly articulates and slides for a long period of time without generating unusual wear elongation even if used together with an extremely deteriorated lubricating oil having a high degree of oxidation, has both ends of a bushing are force-fit into bushing holes of a pair of inner plates respectively and both ends of a connecting pin which is rotatably mounted into the bushing are force-fit into pin holes of a pair of outer plates disposed on both of the outer sides of the pair of inner plates. The bushing uses the base material of one steel selected from an austenite stainless steel, a martensite stainless steel, a precipitation-hardening steel, a high-carbon chromium bearing steel and an alloy tool steel each subjected to heat curing.

  • Patent number: 5966921
Abstract: In order to provide a timing mark at a specific place on part of a timing chain in a manner in which the quality of the timing chain is maintained, a timing chain 4, made endless by outer plates 1 and inner plates 2 being connected by means of connecting pins 3 is provided with a timing mark 1' at a specific part on one side of an outer plate 1. The timing mark 1' is placed on the outer plate 1 between the connecting pins 3 and is in the shape of a web extending from an inner edge of the outer plate 1 to an outer edge thereof. The timing mark 1' is provided by baking a coating on the outer plate 1 after the timing chain has been assembled.
