    Abstract: A user may post items that are associated with multimedia objects, such as audio files and video files. The posted items are automatically added to the dynamic playlists of other users who are “following” the user. A user's dynamic playlist is provided to that user for viewing and for accessing the multimedia objects associated with the items in the dynamic playlist. One user may give another user a particular amount of social currency, and a particular's user's total amount of social currency received through gifts is maintained and displayed in a profile of the particular user. A user may create and modify certain tag settings that are used to filter a plurality of multimedia objects such that only the multimedia objects that satisfy the user's tag settings are provided to the user.
