Abstract: Embodiments of an electrical connector assembly are disclosed. The electrical connector assembly can include an electrical connector having a connector housing and a leadframe supported by the connector housing. The leadframe includes an electrically conductive ground plate that includes a drain wire connection tabs that can attach to drain wires of respective electrical cables. The electrical connector assembly can further include a cable clip that supports the plurality of cables. The electrical connector assembly can further include a cable guide that directs the plurality of cables of cables through the cable clip along a desired direction.

Abstract: A connector assembly of a first and a complementary second connector. The assembly includes latches cooperative with respective matching locking sections at opposite sides of the assembly to hold the connectors in an assembled state. One of the connectors includes a main body and a release member which is slideable relative to the main body between a rest position and a release position. In the release position the release member disengages the latches from the respective locking sections. At least one resilient member biases the release member to the rest position.

Abstract: A smart connector for automotive accessories comprising injection molded plastic first and second components, the first component being adapted to receive a printed circuit board with edge contacts therein. Multiple position assurance features are provided so that the PCB can only be fully inserted in the proper orientation and can only be latched in place if fully inserted. Spring terminals are crimped to the wires leading to and from the connector assembly and contactingly engage the edge contacts on the surfaces of the PCB adjacent the leading and trailing edges thereof. The first and second connector components are releasably latched together by means of an exterior detent and spring arm combination.
