  • Publication number: 20070093310
Abstract: This invention claims new methods to make arm braces that maintain the users' arms straight and fully extended and are also comfortable to wear even in hot weather, by making the braces with nonuniform thickness, their inside surface contoured, and providing them with a plurality of holes penetrating through their inner cushioning liner which are aligned with a plurality of holes penetrating through their outer layer in order to create ventilating channels to allow air to circulate directly between the user's arm and outside the device. Embodiments of the arm braces made by these new methods can be used as golf swing training devices that maintain the golfers' lead arms straight and fully extended and are also comfortable to wear even in hot weather.

  • Patent number: 5839219
Abstract: A method of coating a fishing fly to improve the durability and wetting character of the fly. The coating is applied using gas deposition, encapsulating the fly with a water barrier while preserving its micro-details. The typical coating is odorless and colorless, and increases the longevity of the fly. The wetting character imparted by the method results from the choice of gas deposited on the fly. In coating a dry-type fly, the method uses a gas that will make the fly hydrophobic so that it floats after a significantly greater number of immersions than an uncoated fly. In coating a wet-type fly, the method uses a gas that will make the fly hydrophilic so that it submerges in less time than an untreated fly.

  • Patent number: 4567320
Abstract: A reinforced insulated electrical cable and a method of forming the cable, which is especially useful in oil wells. The reinforcement comprises a thin tape of thermosetting material imbedded with an open-mesh fabric, the tape being spirally wrapped directly around the cable's insulation. The tape is wrapped in unvulcanized form and is then vulcanized in place over the insulation. The layer of open-mesh fabric is spaced from the outer surface of the insulation so that, during vulcanization, the insulation can radially outwardly expand without contacting and thus deforming the fabric, and at the same time the insulation can push part of the thermosetting material through the spaces in the fabric.
