Abstract: The instant invention relates to monoazo pigments containing a hydroxynaphthoylaminobenzimidazolone radical which correspond to the formula ##STR1## said new pigments being useful for coloring high molecular materials in orange to brown shades of especially good fastness properties.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for coloring polyamides in the melt with azo pigments of the formula ##STR1## wherein A is the radical of a diazo or tetraazo component, R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are hydrogen atoms or alkyl, cyclo alkyl, phenylalkyl or aryl radicals, and n is 1 or 2.Articles colored with the pigments have level, strong yellow shades of excellent fastness to light, wet processing, rubbing and thermofixation.

Abstract: The present invention relates to valuable novel azo pigments of the formula ##STR1## wherein A is a benzene residue, X is a SO.sub.3 or CO.sub.2 group, Y is a substituent that does not confer solubility in water, M is a monovalent or bivalent metal atom, and n is 1 or 2. Examples of substituents that do not confer solubility in water are: halogen, e.g. chlorine or bromine, methyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, cyano, alkanoylamino containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and especially nitro and trifluoromethyl. In addition to containing the specified substituents, the benzene residue A can contain further substituents, e.g. chlorine atoms or methyl groups. Suitable metals are monovalent metals such as alkali metals, e.g. Na, K or Li, but preferably bivalent metals such as Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu or Zn. However, M can also comprises mixtures of such metals.

Abstract: Pigment formulations which contain(1) 10-90% by weight, based on the whole formulation, of a pigment mixture of(a) 99.5-90 mol %, based on the pigment mixture, of at least one monoazo pigment of the general formulaA--N=N--Band(b) 0.5-10 mol %, based on the pigment mixture, of at least one monoazo pigment of the formula(A'-N=N-B'--(X).sub.mcharacterized by the presence of at least one --COOH, --SO.sub.3 H, metal carboxylate or metal sulfonate group per pigment molecule, and(2) 90-10% by weight, based on the whole preparation, of a polyacrylate resin containing carboxylic acid groups.The novel pigment formulations are outstandingly suitable for pigmenting aqueous, alcoholic and aqueous-alcoholic printing ink systems and colored lacquer systems and are distinguished in particularlby good shelf life.The substituents A, B, A', B', X and m are as defined in claim 1.

Abstract: Monoazo pigments of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 represent hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, andX represents hydrogen, chlorine, methyl, methoxy or ethoxy, are useful for coloring plastics in fast yellow shades.

Abstract: Azo colorants of the formula ##STR1## wherein A denotes the radical of a heterocyclic diazo component, R.sub.1 denotes a hydroxyl, alkyl, phenyl or alkoxycarbonyl group, R.sub.2 denotes a H atom or an alkyl, phenyl, acyl, nitrile, alkoxycarbonyl or carbamoyl group, and X and Y denote substituents which do not confer solubility in water are prepared. The compounds are useful for pigmenting high molecular weight organic materials, such as polyesters, polyolefins and rubber. The compounds have excellent fastness to light, weathering and migration.

Abstract: New tetrakisazo pigments of the formula ##EQU1## wherein A, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 denote a benzene or naphthalene radical, are prepared. The compounds may be used for pigmenting high-molecular organic material such as cellulose ethers, polyvinyl chloride and polypropylene. The pigments have high tinctorial and good fastness to migration.This is a continuation of application Ser. No. 479,963 filed on June 17, 1974, now abandoned.

Abstract: New disazo pigments of the formula ##SPC1##R being hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, nitrile, trifluormethyl, aryloxy, phenylsulfonyl or benzoyl, m and n 1 or 2, X hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, nitrile, trifluormethyl or carboxylic acid ester are prepared. The compounds are useful for pigmenting high molecular weight organic materials such as polyamides, polyurethanes and polyesters.
