Abstract: An exercise system includes a resistance unit for the performance of a wide variety of exercises including those previously performed using free weights, exercise machines, rowing machines, and/or ski machines. The resistance unit is usable alone or with a bench system that preferably includes a bench unit. The bench system can include an extension unit mounted to the bench unit, wherein a resistance unit is mountable to the exercise system in a plurality of mounting positions that align with various bench configurations to permit the performance of a wide variety of resistance exercises. The exercise system includes a software application which receives and analyzes data received from the resistance unit and generates a graphical user interface on a display unit for optimized display and representation of real time training data and an interpretation of the results.
