Abstract: The present vehicle hatch for passenger vehicles comprises a hatch cover, sealant member and mounting frame assembly. The mounting frame assembly allows for the hatch cover to open to angle greater than 90 degrees. The hatch may be in any one of several positions including: totally closed, providing a hermetic seal pervious to dust and waterproof; open in all its periphery; open only at its front; open only at its front; open only at its rear; open on its right or left side; and open with the upper cover at an angle greater than 90 degrees, thereby serving as an emergency exit. The mounting frame and hatch cover provide an improved seal against penetration of water and other particles, and provide an improved aerodynamic feature. The mounting frame may be telescopically adjustable to provide for secure mounting on vehicle bodies of varying thicknesses.
