Abstract: In various arrangements, an actuator system for window shades having shade material and a beaded chain is presented, the actuator system having a cover and an actuator mechanism with a carrier, a selector, a first ratchet member, and a second ratchet member. In various arrangements, the movement of the selector facilitates engagement of one of the first ratchet member or the second ratchet member with the beaded chain so as to facilitate raising of lowering of shade material of the window shade system.

Abstract: Techniques for on-demand metadata insertion into single-stream content are described. In one or more implementations, media content is obtained responsive to a request. The media content can be included in a content stream that also includes alternate content that is spliced into the content stream. Metadata is injected into the content stream at runtime in association with a starting point of the alternate content. The metadata can enable a media player to identify the alternate content and a location of the alternate content within the content stream. The content stream is then transmitted as a single stream to the media player for playback of both the media content and the alternate content.

Abstract: A modular sensor switch is formed to include the sensor and electrical control elements in a base module which is covered by a removable and replaceable cover plate module that may be aesthetically coordinated with a suitable switch or cover plate. The cover plate module may be changed by a user without the services of an electrician. The cover plate module includes at least one sensor cover and at least one manual switch activator element that may be formed to aesthetically coordinate with a switch plate cover to create a unified decorative effect for the combined switch plate cover and cover plate module.
