Abstract: The present invention relates to a formulation or composition for the treatment, repair, formation or regeneration of bone tissue in a subject, comprising Histatin-1 or its derivatives. The present invention also relates to a biomaterial comprising Histatin-1 or its derivatives in a biocompatible material, and a method for the treatment, repair, formation or regeneration of bone tissues in a subject comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of Histatin-1 or its derivatives.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an alanine glyoxylate aminotransferase (AGXT) I340M therapeutic for use as a medicament or in a method of treatment, for example in the treatment of an AGXT-responsive condition. The AGXT I340M therapeutic is an AGXT I340M protein comprising an amino acid sequence, which, when optimally aligned with SEQ ID NO: 2, comprises a methionine at a position corresponding to position 340 in SEQ ID NO: 2, a nucleic acid molecule encoding such an AGXT I340M protein, or a virion of a viral gene therapy vector comprising such a nucleic acid molecule. The AGXT I340M therapeutic has a higher specific activity as compared to other AGXT alleles and may therefore be advantageously used in the treatment of primary hyperoxaluria type I.

Abstract: A tamper-resistant outlet cover uses a spreadable grounding socket engageable post to secure the cover in place to thereby block access to an electrical receptacle, typically a wall outlet. The post is spread by insertion of a spreader, typically a threaded screw. The head of the screw is configured to only be engaged by a cooperatively shaped tool. Installation and removal of the cover is thus afforded only to one in possession of the tool.

Abstract: Apparatus for emergency medical treatment includes a towing vehicle, a trailer vehicle, and a hitch connecting the trailer vehicle to the towing vehicle. The towing vehicle and the trailer vehicle are no more than about five feet wide to facilitate movement of the apparatus through congested areas. The trailer is provided with emergency medical equipment including a cardiac defibrillator, an intravenous fluid delivery system, a sphygmomanometer, and a removable patient cot for supporting a person receiving emergency medical treatment. A bench in the trailer vehicle, used by an emergency medical technician, is longitudinally aligned with the patient cot to minimize the width of the trailer. The trailer has a hinged roof portion which is vertically swingable from a lower closed position to an upper open position, an end door assembly which includes an end door and a movable roof panel which are rigidly connected together.
