Abstract: An x-ray image sensor has an array disposed between an x-ray source and a photo-responsive device, such as a CCD or CMOS device. The array is comprised of a plurality of generally linearly-shaped, opaque elements that are spaced apart from each other by a predetermined distance and are adapted to absorb either x-ray radiation or light radiation. When a plurality of x-ray images is taken of the same object from different angles, images of the array are superimposed on the images of the object. Using a CAD program or other algorithm, the differences in spacing between the array elements for each image are used to derive a three-dimensional image of the object.
