  • Patent number: 11598495
Abstract: The present invention relates to LED lighting elements comprising translucent mouldings composed of polycarbonate-based moulding compounds, comprising a colourant mixture, carbon black, scattering additive and optionally white pigment, as used, for example, as covers with a day/night design. Through combination with one or more RGB-LEDs, it is possible to achieve surprising colour effects in night design with presence of a deep gloss effect in mouldings that are black and grey in day design.

  • Publication number: 20220332089
Abstract: What is described as a multilayer body which can be illuminated by means of edge lighting and optionally also by backlighting, and which has a stone look. As well as the stone layer, layers of thermoplastic material are provided, with a translucent dark-colored layer provided on the reverse side with respect to the stone layer. The structure is a pleasing design element with day/night design not just in the configuration of building interiors and facades, but can also be used in a versatile manner in the automotive sector.

  • Publication number: 20220332088
Abstract: The invention relates to a multi-layer element which can be illuminated with edge lighting and optionally also with backlighting, an which has a stone-like appearance. Alongside the stone layer, layers made of a thermoplastic material are also provided. The structure is not only an attractive design element with day/night design for building interiors and facade construction, but it can also be used in many ways in the automotive sector.

  • Publication number: 20120213977
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of a plastics moulding, comprising (A) back-injecting a plastic film on a first side with at least one thermoplastic plastic, wherein one or more partial areas of the plastics film are not back-injected, (B) cooling the plastics moulding obtained in step A), and (C) subsequently heating at least those regions of the plastics moulding obtained in step B) that have not been back-injected again.

  • Publication number: 20060078745
Abstract: The present invention relates to composite plastic moldings containing A) a thermoplastically formable, heat-resistant composite film having A1) a carrier film of a thermoplastic resin and A2) a layer of a heat-resistant soft touch coating on one side of the carrier film (A1) and B) a thermoplastic layer on the side of the carrier film (A1) facing away from the soft touch coating, wherein the soft touch coating (A2) is obtained from a composition containing i) polyurethanes and/or polyurethane-ureas which are free from hydroxyl and/or amine groups, ii) ionically modified polyurethanes and/or polyurethane-ureas which contain hydroxyl and/or amine groups, iii) at least one crosslinking agent, iv) optionally film-forming resins other than A1) or A2), and v) optionally additives. The present invention also relates to a process for the production of these composite moldings and their use in telecommunications equipment and in vehicle, ship and aircraft construction.

  • Publication number: 20040258924
Abstract: A composite systems (film laminates) useful for the in-mould decoration (IMD) process is disclosed. The composite comprise a first thermoplastic translucent plastics film having a thickness of from 20 to 1000 &mgr;m, a primer layer having a layer thickness of from 0.5 to 20 &mgr;m, a colored layer containing pigments and a plastics binder, and optional a second primer layer having a layer thickness of from 0.5 to 20 &mgr;m, which may be different from B), a layer of a thermoplastic polyurethane having a Shore A hardness of from 55 to 95, and a thermoplastic plastics film having a thickness of from 20 to 1000 &mgr;m, which may be different from the first plastic film.
