  • Patent number: 5599076
Abstract: A slip control system determines friction/slip characteristics of tires of a road vehicle equipped both with an antilock system to permit an individual brake pressure control on individual vehicle wheels. The front wheel brakes are connected to a primary output pressure space of the tandem master cylinder, and the rear wheel brakes are connected to a secondary output pressure space of the tandem master cylinder. A first bore stage of a housing of the tandem master cylinder forms a housing-defined boundary of the secondary output pressure space. An inner piston flange movably seals off a pressureless downstream chamber in relation to an inner portion of the first bore stage. An intermediate wall of the housing delimits the bore stage relative to a central bore stage which extends from a third bore stage receiving a primary piston.

  • Patent number: 5576105
Abstract: The method of making a pre-adherized polyester filament yarn with adhesion properties for rubber includes applying a pre-adherizing agent to a polyester filament yarn having a boiling water shrinkage value of <20% while spinning it at not less than 3200 m/min, heat treating the pre-adherized polyester filament yarn with hot air on a bobbin for several days at from 50.degree. to 90.degree. C., and then subjecting the conditioned POY to a single drawing step in which the take-off speed is 1.7 to 2.2 times faster than the inlet speed. Impregnated tire cord made from the polyester filament yarn so treated has a tensile strength of 60 to 70 cN/tex and a tempered shrinkage test value at 190.degree. C. of less than 3.5%, an adhesive power of 18 to 25 daN to rubber, an appearance grade of 2.5-4.0 and a dimensional stability value of greater than 24,000 cN/tex.sup.2.

  • Patent number: 5403661
Abstract: The present invention discloses preadhered, melt-spun, spin-drawn polyester filaments having improved adhesive properties towards rubber and processes for making the same. The process for making these filaments include the following steps:(a) spin-drawing polyester filaments at an up-take speed ranging between about 2,000 and about 6,000 meters per minute by using an integrated spin-drawing process; and(b) immediately after spin-drawing, applying to the polyester filament a composition which has simultaneously about 0.05 to about 0.5% by weight of a polyepoxide and about 5 to about 140 ppm of a tertiary amine with linear functional groups. The resulting polyester filament has a minimum adherence towards rubber in the Strip-test of about 16.0 to about 21.5 daN.
