  • Patent number: 6149565
Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for producing stacks of bags where, instead of connecting the position of the foil web, a marking on the foil web is detected and used to correct the positions of the devices which operate on the web. These devices can include a cutter for removing a strip from the upper layer of the flattened blown tubular web, the punch for punching holes in the lower layer, and the device for infolding are among the devices controlled in response to the marking. The latter can be printed on the web as it is unrolled or formed during the extrusion or foil blowing process.

  • Patent number: 5947882
Abstract: An apparatus for making bags out of a thermoplastic web has a transport unit for feeding a leading end of the web in a transport direction to a cutting/welding station, tools at the station for transversely welding the web and cutting a bag from the leading end of the web, and a device downstream in the direction from the station for stacking and blocking bags cut from the web. A bag-pulling device between the station and the stacker/blocker has an endless drive strand having a pair of stretches extending vertically across a path of the bag between the station and the stacker/blocker and respective horizontally extending deflector rollers carried on the stretches, vertically displaceable therewith, each extending along a respective axis, and each having an outer surface engageable with the web and freely rotatable about the respective axis.

  • Patent number: 5057370
Abstract: The invention relates to electrically conducting solid plastics, the conductivity of which is attributable to their containing finely divided particulate, conducting substances. The electrically conducting solid plastics are comprised of or contain a polymer such as polymethyl methacrylate having a discrete fine-particle structure, and the polymer particles of the polymer are "doped", at least on their surface, with at least one electrically conducting substance such as carbon black in an amount which establishes electrical conductivity. The conducting substance(s) are present in the form of a plurality of conducting particulate solid bodies, and wherein the condition is imposed that the glass temperature (Tg) of the polymer is not exceeded when the conducting substance is mixed with the polymer particles.

  • Patent number: 4937015
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing plastic, electrically conductive pressure-formed plates from thermoplastic plastic particles which are mechanically formed. In this method, mechanically formed, thermoplastic particles each particle having maximum particle diameter in the range of about 1 mm to about 10 mm in the middle of said particle, are mechanically mixed with an amount of at least one electric-current-conducting substance sufficient to provide electrical conductivity. The electric-current-conducting substance is furnished in the form of a plurality of particulate, electrically conducting solid bodies, said mixing being effected in the temperature region below the glass temperature (Tg) of the thermoplastic plastic material of which the thermoplastic particles are comprised. The mixture thus produced is compressed to form plastic pressure-formed plates by means of a pressure-forming device.

  • Patent number: 4878111
Abstract: In a process and apparatus for the production of photographic images of transparent masters, the master is reproduced in a first beam path by means of a light source and optical means on photographic material, and in a second beam path for color and contrast correction by means of a CRT controlled by image measuring means and a computer unit as a mask in a coincident manner. The mask is produced by a feedback loop formed by the CRT, master, image measuring unit, computer unit and again the CRT, whereby in particular the geometric image distortions of the CRT are eliminated. In each location of the screen of the CRT, in which the light point is present, the brightness of the image point is calculated and immediately corrected. By the above described measures the effect of any distortion of the CRT is coupled out, whereby a sharper image is obtained. The part of the light of the CRT used for exposure is not weakened by the master. The process is intended primarily for the photographic copying of color slides.

  • Patent number: 4769651
Abstract: A cathode ray tube is coated on the inside of its fiber optic front plate with a broad band phosphor. In front of the front plate a second fiber optic plate is located. Three parallel strips of dichroic color filters are vapor deposited on the inside of the second plate. Optical contact between the two optical fiber plates is established by a layer of immersion oil. A photosensitive material is moved at a slight distance along the second fiber optic plate transversely to the color filter strips so that it will be exposed line by line. The use of filters in place of different phosphors to produce the individual colors produces significantly improved color separation and thus better reproduction of the image, while retaining the inherent advantages of fiber optic plates.
