  • Publication number: 20070157127
Abstract: A method for navigating within a multi-level hierarchical collapsing menu structure is disclosed. Each level in the menu structure contains plural items, each item being at least one of a function, a pointer to a location, and a pointer to another level. The method of the present invention includes a step of providing a graphical user menu system displaying the items of a given level and enabling selection thereof, wherein access of the given level requires sequential access of each of the levels preceding the given level in the hierarchy. An Active Path is dynamically constructed as a sequence of active links as items are selected using the graphical user menu system, with one active link correspond to each of the items selected. The active links provide direct access to a function corresponding level or menu item without the need to navigate using the graphical user menu system.

  • Patent number: 7082458
Abstract: A dialog facilitator for preserving the spatial and temporal context of a dialog composed of a plurality of postings. The postings are packaged into messages having extended header information which are sent and received using a conventional messaging system. The dialog facilitator retrieves messages from the conventional messaging system, and uses information contained in the messages to populate a posting and a posting summary. Each posting contains detail information and an identifier uniquely identifying the posting., and each posting summary contains the posting identifier, content description information, and referential information identifying a relationship between postings. The referential information identifies whether the posting is related to other postings in the dialog store. Related posting include a commonly assigned dialog identifier.

  • Patent number: 6599130
Abstract: A tutorial or diagnostic aid based on the representation and iterative interpretation of visual images is taught. A teaching or diagnostic session is created by overlaying an interpretation layer via a software application onto the visual image layer and synchronizing the two with the time code of the visual image. The interpretation layer allows the reviewer to identify image areas of interest by gesture and append comments thereto in real time; i.e. images or portions of images within the visual representation playback may be identified and labeled and have the concurrent commentary associated therewith. The comments are indexed and linked to a database of similar topics. The flow of the session is recorded to show the images, deictic gestures associated therewith, and commentary associated with the gestures, to enable subsequent users to playback a session and follow the flow of thought (i.e. image identification and commentary within the original session).
