  • Patent number: 7986071
Abstract: An exemplary slot closure arrangement has a sliding block and a pressure piece. At least one spring element is arranged in between them and can be prestressed by at least one attachment, which interacts with the sliding block and the pressure piece, thus creating a prefabricated assembly. Once the slot closure arrangement has been positioned in a slot, the attachment can be mechanically moved from a first position to a second position, which can be monitored, after positioning of the slot closure arrangement, for activation of the spring forces of the at least one spring element.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 17, 2009
Date of Patent: July 26, 2011
    Assignee: ABB Schweiz AG

  • Publication number: 20030008102
Abstract: The insulating duct (6) is formed by a material which is built up in layers and is shaped in the manner of an L. The base of the L, which serves as the duct bottom (8), is of rigid design, whereas that limb of the L which serves as the duct wall (11) is of flexible design. A reinforcing insert (12, 13) is placed into the duct bottom (10, 11) and is guided into that part of the duct wall (10, 11) which adjoins the duct bottom (7, 8). In a U-shaped slot-insulating means formed from two of these insulating ducts (6) the radii located at the transitions between the base and the limbs of the U then exhibit great strength. During operation of a rotating, electrical machine into whose rotor a slot-insulating means produced in such a manner has been inserted, migration of the slot-insulating means because of centrifugal forces is very reliably avoided.

  • Patent number: 4319076
Abstract: An electrically nonconducting hollow-profile structural part having a protective cover, preferably made of polyester threads or fibers, with a mechanically supporting glass-reinforced plastic core, especially for SF.sub.6 insulating gas technology. The hollow-profile structural part has an end that is conically shaped and connected to an attaching element with an oppositely facing conical surface by means of conically-constructed screw and/or cemented connections in such a way that the glass-fiber interfaces of the core exposed at the end surface are covered gastight by the cone superficies of the attaching element. As a result, the SF.sub.6 insulation gas products of separation which attack glass and which develop as a result of corona discharges cannot come into contact with the glass fibers.
