  • Patent number: 4550882
Abstract: A reel cutting and winding machine for longitudinally cutting a sheet into strips and for winding up the strips on winding cores into separate wound packages. Stationary mounting plates are mounted at either side of the machine, and a cross-member is pivotally mounted between the plates. The cross-member is pivotable into a winding position, a wound package sealing position, and a package depositing position. Lever means is operatively connected to the cross-member and carries the winding core. Carrier levers are pivotably mounted between said plates for movement between a waiting position during the winding process and a second, operating position for cutting the sheets transversely when a roll formation is complete. Adjusting levers are pivotably mounted on said carrier levers means and are adjustable independently of said carrier lever means.

  • Patent number: 4461432
Abstract: An unwinding apparatus for webs of material, in particular plastics films (5), comprising an unwinding shaft (2) which is driven by a motor generator (4), a direction-changing guide means (6), the interior of which is under an increased pressure and feeds an air cushion, and a driven direction-changing roller (9). The technical problem lies in suppressing pulsation phenomena when unwinding sensitive plastics films. The angle over which the web of material loops around the direction-changing guide means (6) is greater than 140.degree.. The air pressure in the interior (17) of the direction-changing guide means is at least 3 times the pressure in the air cushion (20). A pressure measuring means (11) is provided for measuring the pressure in the air cushion (20), the output signal of the measuring means being used to regulate the motor generator (4).

  • Patent number: 4408474
Abstract: A metal strip stretching mill comprising a stretching station and, oppositely adjacent thereto, a group of pulling rolls and a group of braking rolls with adjustably speed-controlled drives on the rolls in the immediate vicinity of the stretching station and torque-controlled drives of stepped-up or stepped-down power on all other rolls, and a disconnectable clutch at the roll trunnion of at least one torque-controlled roll in the middle of each roll group, for a downward expansion of the usable power range of the installation through selective disconnection and idling of said rolls.

  • Patent number: 4185397
Abstract: The arrangement for the drying of solvent at a drying channel with a hot inert carrier medium, under application of compression and adiabatic expansion for the condensation of the solvent, and under reheating of the solvent to the channel temperature is provided in such a manner that a heat exchanger is arranged to follow a compressor for the nitrogen, containing solvent vapor, taken from the drying channel, which heat exchanger is passed through by the carrier medium, drawn from the drying channel and flowing through a pipeline loop, that a condenser arranged follows the compressor for the solvent vapor, on the one hand, feeds the expansion stage, and, on the other hand, is cooled by the nitrogen, cooled in the expansion stage, same being heated to the channel temperature, and that the heated nitrogen is fed into the drying channel. Thereby an energy application as economical as possible in the drying channel is achieved, under general avoidance of external heating.

  • Patent number: 4160529
Abstract: The roller winding machine for the formation of individual reels from longitudinally cut material bands comprises a sickle-shaped supporting and cutting table which is capable of being pivoted between a carrying roll and the material band if the material band is to be cut crosswise. The cutting of the material band is carried out in a precisely defined position upon the supporting and cutting table. One or more adhesive-label issue devices also cooperate with the supporting and cutting table. By means of the adhesive labels, the beginning of the band is fastened to the empty reel sleeve, and the band end is fastened to the full reel, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4140287
Abstract: A shaft releasably supports a plurality of separately rotatable winding reels held in place by clamps. Each reel is mounted on a sleeve assembly including an axially slidable portion, spring biased in one direction, normally holding the clamps engaged with the reels. When one of the portions is forcibly moved axially to release its clamp, it engages and moves the slidable portion of the next adjacent sleeve assembly so that all reels may be released simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 3932919
Abstract: A biaxial stretching machine has a return line for each row of grippers, the return line including a storage region defined by a section of storage track and a screw for feeding grippers to the storage track. The screw is of diminishing pitch and is axially compressible to vary the effective capacity of the storage region. In one form the return screw can be compressed by a spindle-nut-arrangement.
