  • Patent number: 7462399
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for coating plumbing articles such as plumbing fixtures, which have stainless steel surface or surfaces with a so-called stainless steel appearance. According to the invention, at least one siloxane is applied to at least a portion of the surfaces and, to be precise, essentially only in the recesses, channels, grooves and the like, which are provided in the surfaces, while being coated or filled with the siloxane. The coated surfaces are preferably ones that have been subjected to a prior surface treatment, particularly ones that have been brushed.

Date of Patent: December 9, 2008
    Assignee: Hansgrohe AG
    Inventor: Armin Waidele
  • Publication number: 20080280158
Abstract: An object, in particular an item of sanitaryware, has a base body, a first layer that is optionally present on the base body and a ruthenium-containing layer above this first layer. This ruthenium-containing layer has been applied using a PVD process and preferably consists of a ruthenium-containing alloy. This alloy is in particular a nickel-Chromium-ruthenium alloy. The invention also comprises a corresponding production process and a PVD target made from a nickel-chromium-ruthenium alloy.

  • Publication number: 20060210813
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for coating objects, particularly sanitary ware such as plumbing fixtures, shower fittings and the like, during which at least one layer made of copper, nickel or of a copper-nickel alloy is firstly applied to the object. The object itself and/or at least the uppermost applied layer are/is then subjected to a mechanical surface treatment, and at least one nickel-tungsten layer and/or at least one palladium-nickel layer are/is applied to the object or the surface-treated layer. The surface treatment preferably ensues by brushing and/or blasting. This enables objects to be provided with a specific appearance, particularly a high-grade steel-like appearance.

  • Patent number: 5555913
Abstract: The invention relates to a plastic hose with a coloring and/or metallization on its surface, which is produced by stamping on a hot stamping film, as well as to a process for the production thereof. As a result of the hot stamping full-surface colored or metallized surfaces can be created for plastic hoses.
