Abstract: A mass and force meter comprising a frame, a load support, a digital evaluation and display device and two electrically-excited, transversely-vibrating, pre-tensioned strings each having one end fixed to the frame. The other ends of the strings are connected to a force distributor, and first and second transmission elements are provided for transmitting to the force distributor a pre-tensioning force and a force which depends on the load to be measured. One end of each of the transmission elements is fixed to the force distributor and the other ends are connected to the respective pre-tensioning and load forces. A guide member having one end connected to the frame and the other end connected to the force distributor acts together with the strings to guide the force distributor in a statically defined manner relative to the frame with respect to the pre-tensioning force and the force established by the load to be measured.

Abstract: The invention concerns a balance provided with a load support, load compensating means and a lever system mounted between the load support and the load compensating means. The lever system comprises four equally long and identically designed three-knife load levers connected with the load compensating means by at least one intermediate lever, each of the four load levers being allocated to one out of four equally designed supporting points of a knife bearing body of the same intermediate lever.

Both frame and load support are constructed to deform under the weight of the apparatus itself, so the meter is in a statically defined position even if positioned onto an uneven floor or support structure.

Abstract: In a mass and force measuring instrument comprising a load support, load-compensating means with very small travel, transmission elements transmitting a force depending on the load to the load-compensating means, display means, at least one linearizing spring whose force varies continuously and acts on the load-compensating means in a direction parallel to that of said force depending on the load, said linearizing spring being active only in a part of the measuring range and means to adjust the characteristic line of said spring.
