    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for synthesizing a functionalized mercaptan, comprising the reaction between a compound of formula R2—X—C*H(NR1R7)—(CH2)n-G (II) and H2S in the presence of at least one enzyme chosen from sulfhydrylases; said reaction being performed in a reactor with a partial pressure of H2S in the gas headspace of said reactor of between 0.01 and 4 bar, preferably between 0.1 and 3 bar, for example between 0.1 and 2.5 bar, and more preferentially between 0.25 and 2 bar, at the reaction temperature.
