  • Patent number: 10850980
Abstract: A system for producing gaseous hydrogen, includes an enclosure formed by a side wall, a front end wall, and a rear end wall, the enclosure containing unit charge(s) of a material for generating gaseous hydrogen when heated, wherein each unit charge includes a cylindrical body including a closed rear end wall and a front end wall having an opening, at least one block of material for generating gaseous hydrogen, each block presenting an annular shape defining a central channel leading to the opening in the front end wall of the body and an initiator present in the vicinity of the rear end wall of the body; the opening facing the front end wall of the enclosure so that the hot gas coming from the block of material for generating gaseous hydrogen when heated is directed directly against the inside surface of the front end wall of the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 10608270
Abstract: A device for generating gaseous dihydrogen, includes a body defining an inside volume having present therein a storage first compartment defined by a first wall and for receiving a hydrogen storage material; a conveyor second compartment, the first compartment surrounding the second compartment and being separated therefrom by a second wall, a conveyor system being present in the second compartment and configured to transport the hydrogen storage material from an inlet of the second compartment communicating with the first compartment to an outlet of the second compartment; and a recovery support in communication with the outlet of the second compartment and connected to the first and second walls, the support being movable in the first compartment. The device also includes a drive system for actuating the conveyor system and the movement of the recovery support in the first compartment; and a heater system configured to heat the second compartment.

  • Patent number: 10026978
Abstract: A method of generating electricity with a fuel cell includes a phase in which the cell is primed; and a phase in which the cell functions at a stable rate, during which the cell, fed with a hydrogenated gas, generates electricity and heat. In order to prime the cell, it is fed with a hydrogenated gas including at least 70 vol. % hydrogen, generated by self-sustaining combustion of at least one hydrogenated gas-generating solid pyrotechnic charge; and while it is operating at a stable rate, the cell is fed with a hydrogenated gas containing at least 85 vol. % hydrogen, generated by thermal decomposition of at least one hydrogenated gas-generating solid pyrotechnic charge; a portion of the heat produced by the operating cell being transferred to the at least one solid charge in order to start and maintain the thermal decomposition thereof.
