  • Publication number: 20180258832
Abstract: A coolant pump for providing a coolant to an engine includes a pump frame, a rotatable rotor shaft, a pulley wheel co-rotatably fixed to the rotor shaft, an axially shiftable ferromagnetic rotatable pump wheel, and an electromagnetic wet friction clutch arrangement. The pump wheel is axially shiftable with respect to the rotor shaft and the pump frame. The clutch arrangement comprises a static electromagnet, a clutch disk co-rotatably supported by the rotor shaft, a first clutch friction surface arranged at the clutch disk and a thereto corresponding second clutch friction surface arranged at the pump wheel, and a separate stop friction surface arranged at the pump wheel and a thereto corresponding static stop friction surface arranged at the static pump frame. The electromagnet, when fully energized, axially attracts the pump wheel so that the separate stop friction surface and the static stop friction surface engage to stop the pump wheel.

  • Patent number: 9850905
Abstract: A coolant pump includes a pump frame, a driving wheel driven by an engine, a pump wheel driven by the driving wheel, and a clutch which couples the driving wheel with the pump wheel. The clutch comprises a friction surface arranged at the driving wheel, and a clutch disc which corresponds to the friction surface. The clutch disk is connected with and co-rotates with the pump wheel, and is axially shiftable between an engaged and a disengaged position. An axial pretension spring pretensions the clutch disc into the disengaged position. A permanent magnet forces the clutch disc into the engaged position. An electromagnet, when energized, generates a polarization which is opposite to a polarization of the permanent magnet to reduce a total magnetic attraction force of the permanent magnet with respect to the clutch disc and to thereby push the clutch disc into the disengaged position via the pretension spring.

  • Patent number: 9839752
Abstract: A fluid injection device having a syringe body, a needle, and a needle protection device removable from the injection device and having a substantially flexible or deformable inner body and a substantially rigid outer body. In the stored position the inner body closes the dispenser orifice of the needle and the outer body co-operates with the injection device to fasten the protection device on the injection device. The protection device includes a protection system against accidental pricking, having protective flaps that are integral part of the outer body and movable between a covering position in which they cover the needle, and an open position in which the needle is uncovered. The protection system has a control ring that slides over the outer body so as to move the flaps from their covering position to their open position, before injection, and from their open position to their covering position, after injection.

  • Patent number: 9726178
Abstract: A coolant pump includes an impeller pump wheel, a pump housing defining an outlet volute, and an outlet valve arrangement. The pump housing comprises an outlet volute housing which defines a first outlet channel comprising a valve opening. The valve opening is defined by a valve seat which defines a valve seat plane and a symmetry plane. The symmetry plane is arranged in the middle of and rectangular to the valve seat plane. The outlet valve arrangement is in the first outlet channel and comprises a valve flap which opens/closes the valve opening. The valve flap comprises a flap seat corresponding to the valve seat. The valve flap rotates around a pivot axis parallel to the symmetry plane and having an eccentricity from the symmetry plane which is between 1/20 and 1/1 of a distance of the pivot axis to the valve seat plane when the valve flap is open.
