  • Patent number: 6213377
Abstract: The invention relates to an ultrasound welding process and an ultrasound welding device for securing at least two wire ends located one above the other to contact regions of electrical parts, particularly to contact regions of laminations of commutators for rotating electrical machines or motors, having a sonotrode and having a device for introducing a contact pressure force. It is contemplated that all the wire ends (16, 18) to be secured to at least one contact region (14) are pressed against the contact region (14) by means of the contact pressure force (F), and at the same time the sonotrode (28) sets the lower wire end (16) into oscillation transversely to the contact pressure force (F).

  • Patent number: 5652471
Abstract: The rectifier arrangement, preferably for a three-phase generator for a motor vehicle, has at least one power diode of positive polarity and at least one power diode of negative polarity assigned to respective half waves of each phase of the three-phase current and a cooling arrangement for the power diodes, the power diodes of like polarity being arranged on respective heat sinks in an electrically and thermally conductive fashion, and the heat sinks being sandwiched together with at least one electrically insulating part (32) which contains the electrical conductors between the diodes and the three-phase winding.

  • Patent number: 5415714
Abstract: A method for positionally securing two components together, in which a hollow body is introduced into the two components. Once the final position of the components relative to one another has been established, the hollow body is driven directly into the second component with the application of axial pressure and sonic energy. The method is suitable for employment with thermoplastic components whose relative position to one another is known beforehand, an example being in the assembly of housing parts of a rotary adjuster for controlling a flow cross section in internal combustion engines.

  • Patent number: 5029746
Abstract: An ultrasonic welding device for mounting wire ends or wire loops on terminal lugs, particularly on terminal lugs or lamellas of drum-shaped commutators for rotating electrical machines, the arrangement comprises a sonotrode, an anvil against which terminal lugs abut during a welding process, and supporting surfaces provided on the anvil and on a free end of each terminal lug for taking up a sonotrode pressure and sonotrode vibrations transverse to a pressure direction. The supporting surfaces abut against one another before a start of a welding process by a relative movement of the anvil and the terminal lugs.

  • Patent number: 5019740
Abstract: A collector segment comprising a connector lug having a contact surface, to which a wire winding loop of electric machine rotor is to be welded, and extending in a direction radially outward relative to a rotational axis of the electric machine rotor, and positioning surfaces which define a position of the wire winding loop in an extension direction of the connecting lug.

  • Patent number: 4320984
Abstract: An arrangement for producing a connection between two structural parts for preventing any relative movement thereof, consists of a blind bore in the one part and a through bore in the other part, a pin being inserted in fitting manner into the blind bore and projecting into the through-hole. Since the diameter of the through-hole is larger than the diameter of the blind bore an annular space is obtained within the through-hole which is filled out by a sleeve which is deformable through application of ultrasonic waves.

  • Patent number: 4030525
Abstract: To prevent flowing of coating material on corrosion-protected sheet steel, such as a zinc coating, when making overlap weld seams, the end portion of at least one of the steel sheets is formed with openings which extend from adjacent the outer edge of the end portion inwardly, to leave projections between the openings, the projections being entirely within the overlap and leaving a short strip of solid material in the overlap region, so that the weld will occur at concentrated hot spots of the material, and contamination of the welding electrodes by the zinc coating material is prevented. The openings may extend clear to the edge in the form of notches, leaving intervening teeth, or they may be punched holes.
