Abstract: A composition for dyeing a substrate, a method for preparing a dyed substrate, and the use of the composition for dyeing a substrate for producing a completely or partially basic-soluble film on a substrate. The composition including: from 20 to 80% by weight of water; from 0.025 to 12.5% by weight of a colorant; and from 5 to 45% by weight of a binder; each based on total weight of the composition. The binder has an acid number of at least 40 mg KOH/g of dry matter, and the composition has a pH of at most 7.
