  • Patent number: 8036987
Abstract: A system for accounts payable management whereby vendor payment priority criteria are defined and data associated with one or more vendors and/or vendor invoices is obtained along with data indicating funds available to make vendor payments. The data: indicating vendor payment priority criteria, associated with one or more vendors and/or vendor invoices, and indicating funds available to make vendor payments is then analyzed and used to automatically generate a proposed vendor payment plan. The proposed vendor payment plan is then displayed to one or more users associated as part of a user interface display and the one or more users are provided the opportunity to edit and/or approve the proposed vendor payment plan. Once the proposed and/or edited vendor payment plan is approved, one or more payments are automatically made to one or more vendors in accordance with the approved vendor payment plan.

  • Patent number: 7440976
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a collaborative-search system that facilitates performing collaborative searches. During operation, the collaborative-search system receives a first search request from a first user. The collaborative-search system then identifies a group of users who sent search requests that were similar to the first search request. Next, the collaborative-search system sends a notification to the first user that identifies the group of users that sent search requests that were similar to the first search request. If the collaborative-search system receives a request from the first user to view a search history for the group of users, the collaborative-search system sends the search history to the first user.

  • Publication number: 20080068627
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for determining and saving a location of a section of an item of content. During operation, the system receives a section of a content map associated with the item of content from an input device, wherein the content map is located on the same physical medium as the item of content, and wherein the section of the content map is collocated with the section of the item of content, whereby the input device can be positioned in close proximity to the section of the item of content to receive a corresponding section of the content map. The system then uses the section of the content map to determine the location of the section of the item of content. Then, the system saves the location of the section of the item of content at the client. Note that saving the location of the section of the item of content facilitates subsequently retrieving the section of the item of content.
