  • Patent number: 6605049
Abstract: The invention is directed to a system and method of encoded markings on the body of medical devices such as guide-wires having limited surface for markings. The markings include indicators of characteristics, such as the design family, the size, and other pertinent specifications. The marking system of the invention comprise an spatially ordered series of marks on the surface of the device, with each mark corresponding to an information or data category. Each mark is coded with a value of the code property which is correlated with and expresses a particular data element within the data category and pertinent to the marked device specimen. The code property value may then be inspected or “read” by the device user to evaluate the data element and obtain information regarding the marked device specimen.

  • Patent number: 6307340
Abstract: A main drive shaft of a power loom reaches the rated operating rpm of the loom by the time of the first beat-up of the reed, thus avoiding start-up faults in the fabric. A flywheel mass is accelerated to a start-up rpm that is higher than the rated operating rpm before it is coupled with the main drive shaft. The start-up rpm is determined automatically and iteratively, with ever-increasing accuracy in successive starts of the loom. When the main drive shaft is coupled to the flywheel mass, the flywheel mass rpm decreases simultaneously as the main drive shaft rpm increases from standstill to the operating rpm. The actual main drive shaft rpm is measured at least at the time of the first beat-up and any deviation from the rated operating rpm is evaluated by the loom control.

  • Patent number: 4558825
Abstract: An agitator mill comprising a grinding vessel (3) which encloses a grinding area, a storage vessel (37) which contains grinding bodies (28), and a device (8) for feeding grinding bodies (28) from the storage vessel (37) into the grinding area. This device (8) essentially consists of a housing (11) attached to the grinding vessel (3) and a rotatable worm (13) situated therein. When the worm (13) is rotated, the grinding bodies (28) may be fed trouble-free as required into the grinding area, even if re-used grinding bodies (28) are concerned which have been worn out of true and have varied diameters.
