  • Patent number: 4374777
Abstract: A process is disclosed for the preparation of vanadium trineodecanoate to used as one component of a promoter used in conjunction with a catalyst to cure a polyester resin. Vanadium pentoxide is reacted or reduced in an acidic solution. The resultant mixture is heated and thereupon neodecanoic acid triethyl phosphate, paraformaldehyde and xylene are added. This solution is azeotropically distilled. Vanadium trineodecanoate is recovered in a xylene phase.

Date of Patent: February 22, 1983
Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Navy
Inventors: Ronald A. Henry, Arnold Adicoff
  • Patent number: 4215046
Abstract: Hydroxy terminated polybutadiene is reacted with naphthyl-potassium and 1omo-2,4-pentadiene in successive steps to form a bis(1,3-pentadienyl ether) derivative. Then the bismaleimide of dimer diamine is added to the polybutadiene derivative whereby a room temperature cure to an elastomer is achieved.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4193952
Abstract: A solid propellant formulation and method of preparation which has enhanced urning rate characteristics and improved mechanical properties. The formulation comprises a binder, a fuel and an inorganic oxidizer consisting of ammonium perchlorate whiskers which are oriented along the direction of shear.

  • Patent number: 4156761
Abstract: Hydroxy terminated polybutadiene is reacted with naphtyl-potassium and 1-mo-2,4-pentadiene in successive steps to form a bis(1,3-pentadienyl ether) derivative. Then the bismaleimide of dimer diamine is added to the polybutadiene derivative whereby a room temperature cure to an elastomer is achieved.

  • Patent number: 4134848
Abstract: A stripline board material of hollow glass microspheres chemically bonded to a coating material and physically held in a polymeric matrix, preferably homo- or co-polymers of ethylene, propylene and/or styrene. The coating material is a difunctional silane with one functional group bound to the glass and the other bound either to the matrix or to a copolymer of a structure similar to the structure of the matrix. In the latter case, the sphere-silane-copolymer forms an intimate mixture with the matrix.

  • Patent number: 4076772
Abstract: A method for manufacturing large, nonplanar, transparent, gelatin-coated ymer sheets is disclosed. These sheets when sensitized, exposed, and developed can record and display holograms. A poly(methyl methacrylate) sheet is coated with nitrocellulose, the nitrocellulose is denitrated, and a gelatin solution is applied, then hardened. The sheet with its gelatin film is then thermally formed to any desired three-dimensional configuration.
