  • Publication number: 20040222597
Abstract: A gasket for use with a pipe includes an annular member having a plurality of legs coupled to a vertical member. One of the legs is an annular projection that extends outwardly from the annular member. The vertical member and some of the legs form a base portion, with the annular projection extending outwardly from the base portion. The base portion may have an I-shaped cross section. Alternatively, the annular member may have a cross-shaped cross section. The gasket is sized to seat in a groove of a pipe. A pipe joint and corrugated pipe are also provided that utilize the gasket. A method of sealing a pipe joint and a method of manufacturing a gasket are also described.

  • Patent number: 6722806
Abstract: A cleaning implement is provided. The cleaning implement includes a liquid delivery system for providing a cleaning liquid to a surface to be cleaned having a canister for storing a liquid, an electrical motor driving a pump, and a voltage source for engerizing the electric motor. A support head is pivotally attached to the handle for releasably receiving a cleaning sheet. The handle includes a switch and is formed from a plurality of handle sections. Each handle section has at least one electrical connector which is electrically connected with an electrical connector of an adjacent handle section so that the switch can activate the electrical motor. The support head can be configured to allow visual inspection of the cleaning sheet through the support head during use. The canister is provided with plurality of side walls and vent valve having a cracking pressure of at least about 0.

  • Publication number: 20040007287
Abstract: A vent and fluid transfer fitment for sealing and transferring a fluid from an inverted fluid-filled container without premature leakage to a receiver attachment, has a transfer check valve and a venting check valve which are preferably duckbill valves. The transfer check valve is attached to the fitment for allowing fluid to be transferred from the container when the receiver attachment engages the transfer check valve. The venting check valve is also attached to the fitment for allowing air to displace the fluid as the fluid exits the container, wherein both the transfer check valve and the venting check valve have an inherent sealing pressure created by the static pressure of the fluid within the container. In addition, the inherent sealing pressure of the venting check valve is less than the inherent sealing pressure of the transfer check valve which allows air to enter the container due to the pressure differential created as the fluid is displaced.

  • Patent number: 6328543
Abstract: A gear pump and reservoir device for a fluid sprayer comprises a pump housing having a recessed portion for receiving and sealing thereto a fluid reservoir and a cavity for locating a drive motor and gears therein. The recessed portion has a rigid conical projection centered therein which has an orifice extending into a pump inlet. The gear pump further includes a fluid container mounted above the recessed portion of the pump housing to form a fluid reservoir. The fluid reservoir has a discharge valve that is opened by engagement with the conical projection within the recessed portion to provide fluid communication to the pump inlet. A static head in the fluid reservoir maintains the gear pump in a primed state. A fluid line leading from the gear pump to a sprayer head has a discharge check valve located therein.

  • Patent number: 6211124
Abstract: Very slightly thickened, shear-thinning, pseudoplastic liquid detergent compositions are packaged in a non-aerosol spray delivery package specifically configured to produce a minimal amount of visible foam along with a minimal amount of small particles that may cause consumer discomfort and preferably comprise a mixture of nonionic and zwitterionic detergent surfactants; hydrophobic cleaning solvent; and polycarboxylate detergent builder to provide superior cleaning of all of the soils commonly found in the bathroom. The compositions preferably have a pH of from about 1 to about 13, preferably to about 5.5. The compositions are in the form of aqueous liquids.
