  • Patent number: 6715720
Abstract: A U-shaped fixture for supporting a wire hanger has an arm portion that is sufficiently narrow to render it preferentially collapsible under nail-driving force, thereby to maintain the open condition of its arcuate back portion. The reduced dimensions of the arm portion, and/or of a transition portion between the arm portion and the back portion, also contribute to the free multidirectional swiveling of an attached hanger.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 9, 2001
Date of Patent: April 6, 2004
    Assignee: Taco Products, Inc.

  • Patent number: 5772354
Abstract: A one-piece brace includes a body portion and a pair of elongate leg portions. The leg portions are joined to the body portion at areas of relative flexibility, which provide joints about which the leg portions can turn for displacement. The brace can be packaged and shipped in a compact configuration, and the leg portions can be spread in such manner so as to minimize their distortion and to maximize the level of reinforcement imparted to the implement on which the brace is installed.

  • Patent number: 4516615
Abstract: The handle of a maul is attached to the head of the tool within an eye in the head. A U-shaped retaining member straddles a connecting portion of the handle within the eye. The space within the eye between the handle and the head is filled with epoxy cement in which the retaining member is embedded. The retaining member coacts with the handle and the head to increase retaining force therebetween when pull-off force is applied to separate the handle from the head.

  • Patent number: 4505313
Abstract: A cylindrical wedge for holding a tool head on a wooden tool handle has a tapered exterior surface and a central bore containing a throat section that is dimensionally smaller than the openings at either end of the bore. When the wedge is embedded in a wooden handle, the tapered exterior surface spreads the handle within the eye of the tool, and the throat section grips the handle core to hold the wedge securely in the handle.

  • Patent number: 4484893
Abstract: An oscillatory handpiece for a tool bit includes a housing having therewith fluid driven turbine rotor having an eccentric connection to an oscillatable rod which is effectively supported only at the point of its eccentric connection. The handpiece also includes means in the housing along the length of the rod which limits the amount of its oscillation and prevents its rotation. A liquid supply tube is disposed within the rod and supplies liquid to the tool bit which is removably engageable at the front end of the oscillatable rod. Moreover, by control of the oscillation limiting means and selection of materials and dimensions for the rod, harmonic vibrations may be used to augment the eccentrically generated oscillation and thus enhance the motion of the tool bit.
