The monitoring device includes a sensor device which is used to detect at least one position of the magnetic adjusting element along the straight movement line. The monitoring device has a magnetic aligning assembly which is arranged such that the adjusting element assumes a specified rotational position relative to the sensor device on the basis of a magnetic interaction between the adjusting element and the aligning assembly.
