Abstract: A modular energy storage system includes a plurality of modules removably coupled into a stack and each including electrical components that together form the energy storage system. The plurality of modules includes a lower module having a top side defining top alignment features, an upper module having a bottom side defining bottom alignment features corresponding with the top alignment features to position the upper module on top of the lower module, and wherein the upper module is stacked on the lower module and the upper and lower modules are electrically coupled.

Abstract: A power management system includes a controller configured to receive status information for one or more energy sources coupled to the power management system and to provide energy from the one or more energy sources to at least one energy sink connected to the power management system and a computing device in communication with the controller. The computing device includes a display, a processor in communication with the display, and memory in communication with the processor, the memory comprising instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause a graphical user interface to be provided on the display. The graphical user interface is configured to display a graphical representation of a flow of energy from the one or more energy sources to the at least one energy sink, and dynamically update the graphical representation to reflect changes in the flow of energy.

Abstract: A system of modules that hold components for operating an external energy source including solar cells and other energy sources is provided, where upon assembly of the modules an electrical cabinet with a module internal air channel for air duct cooling for the components is created. The resulting modular cabinet is only as large as required and is easily expandable. Modules are no larger than the components housed therein and the modules are easy to handle. Interior modules can be in any order reducing the chance of error during assembly and allowing modules in certain positions which may ease installation or operation. Components are thermally connected at the factory to a portion of the air duct in each module and none of the present challenges associated with thermal connection exist at the time of installation.

Abstract: A method is provided for retrofitting an existing combined cycle power plant to generate renewable electricity and decrease the power plant heat rate using solar energy. The method is applied to combined cycle power plants that are equipped with an oversized heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) and steam turbine system to accommodate duct burners or other means of providing additional steam to the steam turbine. The method involves retrofitting a plant with a solar energy collection system to produce solar steam for use in the steam cycle portion of the combined cycle power plant. The solar energy collection system is designed to deliver thermal energy to the existing, oversized and/or underutilized HRSG and steam system capacity in the combined cycle power plant.
