  • Patent number: 4662151
Abstract: The round bale wrapping machine is tractor operated and is equipped with a rotatable platform to support the bale in an upright position for rotation about a vertical axis. The machine supported bale is located adjacent a wrapping mechanism which automatically wraps a plastic sheet material about the bale under the control of the tractor operator. The plastic sheet material is of a roll form rotatably carried on an upright arm at a fixed location on the machine frame. The wrapping mechanism is movably supported on the machine frame for selected movement with and relative to the rotatable platform and to the plastic roll and operates to automatically complete a first plastic wrap around the bale with the lead end of the plastic sheet pressed against the bale periphery at a position to be covered by a second wrap of the plastic sheet about the bale.

  • Patent number: 4174661
Abstract: An automatic bale wrapping assembly for a machine that forms round bales of windrowed crop material and includes a mobile main frame with a bale forming assembly operative to continue rotating a completed bale while a wrapping twine is wound thereon, and a pickup mechanism for supplying such material to the bale forming assembly. The bale wrapping assembly has an extendible and retractable elongated twine dispensing arm having a pair of sections longitudinally movable relative to each other from one of which extends a free end section of the wrapping twine. The dispensing arm is pivotally supported on the main frame for movement between an initial bale wrapping position and a final twine cutting position.

  • Patent number: 4172354
Abstract: A machine for forming large round bales has a pickup device for gathering and delivering a windrowed crop material onto the upper surface of a bale supporting drum roller situated immediately rearwardly of the pickup device with only a working clearance between their oppositely moving adjacent surfaces. Material is moved rearwardly on the bale supporting roller into a bale forming zone for engagement with forwardly moving lower runs of an endless belt assembly. A bale starter roller, situated upwardly and forwardly from the bale supporting roller, rotates in a direction to sweep and direct material from the underside of the lower belt runs into the bale forming zone for coaction with the endless belt assembly to form a rolled bale.
