  • Patent number: 6215239
Abstract: A cathode ray tube includes a deflection unit (11) having a cooling fin (25) which is attached to the surface of a tapering surface on a yoke ring (23) by lugs (27). At least one of the lugs has a free end extending axially and outwardly in thermal contact with the tapering surface, and at least another of the lugs has a free end extending axially in an opposite direction and inwardly in thermal contact with the tapering surface.

Date of Patent: April 10, 2001
    Assignee: U.S. Philips Corporation
    Inventors: Martinus H. E. Jansen, Arnoldus M. C. Kieboom
  • Patent number: 5957571
Abstract: The reflector lamp has a reflector body (1) having a neck-shaped portion (4) with an end face (5). An electric lamp (10) having a lamp vessel (11) with elongate end portions (12,13) and in which an electric element (14) is present, is mounted inside the reflector body (1), its first end portion (12) being fixed in the neck-shaped portion (4) and its electric element (14) being aligned with respect to the optical axis (3) of the reflector body (1). The lamp (10) is fixed by means of a first (30) and a second clamping member (40), which are initially movable with respect to the lamp (10) and one to the other, and which are rigidly secured one to the other after alignment of the electric element (14). The first clamping member (30) is kept positioned against the end face (5).

  • Patent number: 5945776
Abstract: The illumination device has a capped electric lamp (1), a reflector (10) and retention means (20) for keeping the lamp (1) fixed to the reflector (10), an electric element (4) of the lamp (1) being aligned with respect to the reflector (10). The cap (5) of the lamp (1) has sphere discs and/or V-shaped grooves as reference means (7) around an axis (3) of its lamp vessel (2), with respect to which the electric element (4) is aligned. The reflector (10) has about an opening (12) for inserting the lamp (1) V-shaped grooves and/or spherical discs as the alignment means (13), cooperating with the reference means of the lamp cap (5). The reference means (7) and the alignment means (13) allow for an easy, fast and reliable mounting of the lamp (1) in the reflector (10), the electric element (4) occupying a predetermined position therein.

  • Patent number: 4267453
Abstract: In order to reduce the loss of scintillation radiation which laterally emerges in radiation detector devices comprising a scintillation element, the appropriate surfaces of the scintillation element and any subsequent light conductors are provided with a suitably reflective and properly adhesive cover layer. Using a diluted acrylic varnish which incorporates BaSO.sub.4, a cover layer having favorable adhesive properties can be obtained, the occurrence of loose paint particles in the device also being prevented.
