  • Patent number: 7432665
Abstract: A method for driving a lamp is described includes generating a light controlling DC electric field E with a desired direction and a desired strength inside the lamp such as to obtain a desirable ion distribution inside the lamp. The lamp is supplied with a commutating current with a DC component, having a constant current intensity and a duty cycle differing from 50%. By setting the duty cycle, it is possible to set a certain average value of the lamp current, allowing the efficacy and/or color temperature of the lamp to be influenced.

  • Publication number: 20080031896
Abstract: Described are coccidia strains and microbiological cultures comprising such strains. The coccidia strains are selected for tolerance to one group of coccidiostatic drugs, sensitivity to a second group of coccidiostatic drugs, and decreased proliferative capacity. Also described are compositions and vaccines based on such coccidia strain.

  • Publication number: 20070166334
Abstract: The present invention relates to hydrophilic Eimeria polypeptides, DNA-fragments encoding those peptides, recombinant DNA molecules comprising such DNA-fragments, live recombinant carriers comprising such DNA-fragments or recombinant DNA molecules and host cells comprising such DNA-fragments, recombinant DNA molecules or live recombinant carriers. Furthermore, the invention relates to antibodies against the polypeptides and to coccidiosis vaccines based upon said polypeptides. The invention also relates to methods for the preparation of such antibodies and vaccines, and to methods for the detection of Eimeria parasites and antibodies against Eimeria parasites.

  • Patent number: 7233109
Abstract: A metal halide lamp (101) is described, the lamp being designed such that, when the lamp is operative in a vertical orientation, the location of the salt pool is close to the top of the discharge chamber (5). In an embodiment, the coldest spot is close to the top of the discharge chamber. Means are provided enabling more heat to be supplied to the bottom part than to the upper part. In a lamp assembly (10), comprising a lamp (101) arranged inside a bulb (11), additional heat generating means (90) may comprise a radiation coil (91).

  • Publication number: 20050244437
Abstract: The present invention relates inter alia to attenuated live parasites of the phylum Apicomplexa and the family of Trypanosomatdae and to the use of such attenuated live parasites in a vaccine and in the manufacturing of such a vaccine. Furthermore, the present invention relates to vaccines comprising such attenuated live parasites and to methods for the production of such vaccines. Finally, the invention relates to specific tet-repressor fusion proteins and to attenuated live parasites according to the invention comprising such tet-repressor fusion proteins.
