Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for estimating the operational capabilities of a portable medical device, such as an ultrasound imaging device. A user may select a medical procedure, which can determine one or more operating parameters of the device. Readings from a sensor of the device can then be used to calculate a capability estimation based on the designated procedure and operating parameter(s). The capability estimation can be presented or outputted to a user, for example through a display or incorporated into a treatment program or system use parameters.
