Abstract: An apparatus for collecting aerosolized respirable particles of an inhalable medicinal formulation, having a dose collection section having an air-permeable filter extending across the pathway of the aerosolized respirable particles to retain particulate material on the filter. The dose collection section having an upper filter support member and a lower filter support member, the filter being circumferentially retained between the upper and lower support members to form a filter unit; a lower body receiving the filter unit, the lower body having recesses; and a quick-release system having hooks, movable between an open position and a closed position The hooks, in the open position, can enter the recesses around the filter unit, and in the closed position, can grab the filter unit, allowing removal of the filter unit without any human contact.

Abstract: An in vitro release testing (IVRT) device for orally inhaled drug products, for use in an IVRT apparatus, the device having an air-permeable filter loaded with particulate material representing a dose of an orally inhaled drug product. The device has an upper filter support element and a lower filter support element, the loaded filter being circumferentially retained between the upper and lower support elements, a filter cover to cover the upper surface of the loaded filter, and a filter cover retainer provided to assemble and seal the IVRT device.

Abstract: A dry powder inhalation device is disclosed. In one optional aspect, the device includes a housing, a base plate, a receptacle for a medicament and a mouthpiece. The base plate is engageable with the housing to form a main space with a main air inlet. The mouthpiece includes an inner conduit connected to its outlet and is engageable with the base plate to fluidly connect the inner conduit to the receptacle. The receptacle is fluidly connected to the main space, so that upon inhalation by a user, air can be drawn through the main air inlet into the main space and onward through the receptacle into the inner conduit. The mouthpiece and the base plate form an auxiliary space with an auxiliary air inlet, wherein the auxiliary space is fluidly connected to the main space.
