Abstract: Methods, apparatus and computer-readable medium for providing advertising content by a communication network entity. A rendering characteristic associated with a communication device can be obtained and an electronic media advert formatted based on the obtained rendering characteristic. The formatted electronic media advert can then be transmitted to the communication device. The electronic media advert can be selected based on obtained subscriber information of the callers and the selected electronic media advert transmitted to a communication device of one or both of the subscribers.

Abstract: A belongings visualization and records method and system is disclosed. The method comprises receiving a digital representation of a machine-readable, visual code captured with a portable device, the visual code being associated with an item; scanning the received visual code for an item identifier; generating an item image from the item identifier, the item image consisting of a three-dimensional computer image representing the item; placing the item image in a physical space image, the physical space image consisting of a three-dimensional computer image representing a physical space; associating digital files with the item image; associating the item image with a user profile; and displaying the item image and the physical space image to a user on a computer screen.

Abstract: Technical features described herein can be used to construct various embodiments of a file share server implemented over a computer network to serve a social network of users. In one approach, files are uploaded to the file share server by members of a social network based on time and location of creation and related to a particular real world event, either at a physical location or online. Members of a social network then access the file share server, search for the real world event, and retrieve files as desired from the file share server. Secondary files may be created by users that describe other files such as visual files, and may be annotations of the visual files, or aural descriptions of the files to which they relate.

Abstract: Website access parental management techniques block a user device from accessing websites and permit access to a particular website if the received identification of the user device corresponds to a particular registered protected user identification in the records and the particular website corresponds to an approved website identified in a profile of the user. New websites can be approved by administrators and such approval can result in the approved websites being included in the approved website list of the user profile. Secondary administrators with different authorization rights and different approved website lists can be designated to manage the same or different registered protected users.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards providing a computer-implemented method and a network device that provides an electronic payment system for social networks, including maintaining (i) records of registered users, (ii) records of registered merchants, (iii) a credit account for each registered user and registered merchant wherein credits are backed by a commodity and a credit corresponds to a fraction of a standard unit of the commodity, receiving from a user device instructions to deposit a designated amount of currency from a user's account into the user's credit account, using the received instructions, obtaining the designated amount of currency, electronically purchasing from a seller an amount of a specified commodity equivalent to the designated amount of currency minus any transaction fee assessed by the seller, and updating the user's credit account by adding a number of credits equivalent to the amount of the purchased commodity.

Abstract: Technical features described in this application can be used to construct various embodiments of television quiz show gaming methods and apparatus, according to the embodiments described herein. In one approach, a method of television quiz show gaming utilizes a television quiz game show controller to control a quiz question and answer game play on player devices of a plurality of players. Sudoku game play for selecting one or more players to enter or continue play in the television question and answer quiz show is also controlled on at least some of said player devices by the controller. According to the outcome of the Sudoku game play on said player devices, the controller selects one or more players for entering or continuing in the television quiz question and answer game show.
