Patent number: 7386903Abstract: A composite mattress assembly has multiple layers, where one or more of the layers are foam layers and the rest are spring coil mattress layer(s). The composite mattress assembly may be made exclusively of foam layers as well. Any of the layers can be divided into two halves, which is divided longitudinally to support two people. Each half may independently have a layer which is made from a different material or different density or thickness in the case of a foam layer from that of the other half, according to two differing user preferences. A top casing is provided to encase the top layer, and a core casing is provided to enclose the bottom layers, where the two casings are zipped together along mating peripheral circumferential edge. Additionally, methods to adjust the firmness, temperature and the like of all of the foregoing composite mattress assembly are provided.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2006Date of Patent: June 17, 2008Assignee: American Pacific Plastic Fabricators, Inc.Inventor: Arthur A. Hochschild

Publication number: 20040064895Abstract: A bed including a flexible air-inflatable bladder embraced by a flexible inextensible shroud. The shrouded bladder may be encircled by a surround to define the outer periphery of the resulting mattress construction. An inextensible layer can be peripherally attached to the upper edge of the surround.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 7, 2002Publication date: April 8, 2004Inventors: Arthur A. Hochschild, Roman A. Patent number: 6592416Abstract: A floating target for naval gunfire. The target includes an inflatable buoyant superstructure with a drogue chute attached to the periphery of the bottom of the superstructure. The drogue chute, when in use is well underwater. The drogue chute is an open flexible structure with a bottom end weighted with ballast to deploy it, and with ports through its side to permit water to flow into and out of it. A line is attached to the bottom of the drogue chute to enable the target to be tipped and the drogue chute drained of water. A float can be attached to the free end of the line to facilitate recovery, or the line itself may be buoyant.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2002Date of Patent: July 15, 2003Inventor: Arthur A. Hochschild, III

Patent number: 5535462Abstract: A waterbed frame structure including a rectilinear flotation mattress supporting platform, elongate anchor plates with top surfaces secured to the side portions of the platform, elongate, soft, resilient mattress retaining wall sections extending longitudinally of the anchor plates and having bottom surfaces overlying and opposing the top surfaces of the anchor plates, couplings pivotally connecting the wall sections to the anchor plates for upward and inward pivotal movement to allow for lateral inward movement of linen between the anchor plates and wall sections; and, linen-engaging ridges and linen-receiving grooves at the top surfaces of the anchor plates, the bottom surfaces of the wall sections normally yieldingly conform with the ridges and grooves; linen engaged between the anchor plates and wall sections is urged and held in conforming engagement between the conformed ridges and grooves of the anchor plate and the bottom surfaces of the wall sections.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 1994Date of Patent: July 16, 1996Assignee: American Pacific Plastic Fabricators, Inc.Inventor: Arthur A. Hochschild, III

Patent number: 5369823Abstract: A drain fitting for inflatable structures having thin flexible exterior walls defining fluid-containing interior spaces; the filling includes an elongate drain tube with an outer downstream end and an inner upstream end, a coupling port at the outer end of the tube; a closure part releasably engaged with the coupling part; an elongate fluid-conducting support with an outer downstream end and an inner upstream end, a control flow passage and radial openings; a mounting part between and connecting the inner end of the tube and outer end of the support in fluid-conducting relationship, the fitting is to be related to an inflatable structure with its mounting part affixed to a wall thereof, its tube at the exterior thereof and its support in the interior thereof to maintain adjacent portions of walls of the structure spaced apart.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 1993Date of Patent: December 6, 1994Assignee: American Pacific Plastic-Fabricators, Inc.Inventor: Arthur A. Hochschild, III
