  • Patent number: 5190149
Abstract: A tear tab closure for forming an opening in a container end wall, in which the tear tab remains external of the container and captive thereon when it is opened, and further wherein the tear tab is constructed so that there are no recesses for collecting foreign matter. The tear tab is separable from the container end wall along a frangible score line to form the opening, and an actuating tab is attached to the end wall adjacent the tear tab to engage the tear tab and lift it relative to the end wall to fracture the score line.

  • Patent number: 5152421
Abstract: An end wall for beverage containers, in which the end wall has a center section extending across its width, and reduced thickness side sections on opposite sides of the center section, thereby enabling the end wall to be manufactured with less material than is required in conventional end wall constructions. The center section is of the same thickness as used in conventional container end walls, and is able to support a pull tab and associated pull ring, while at the same time reinforcing the end wall. The reduced thickness side sections are only about one-half as thick as the center section, and all shaping to produce the reduced thickness is performed on the top surface of the end wall, so that the underside remains flat.

  • Patent number: 5145086
Abstract: A tear tab closure for forming an opening in a container end wall, in which the tear tab remains external of the container and captive thereon when it is opened, and further wherein the tear tab is constructed so that there are no recesses for collecting foreign matter. The tear tab is separable from the container end wall along a frangible score line to form the opening, and a pull ring is attached to the tear tab to pull it back from the end wall to form the opening, with the tear tab remaining captive on the container. A vertical fold is formed in the container end wall adjacent the score line to provide a shield to protect the user from the severed edge of the tear tab after it is opened along the score line.

  • Patent number: 4518103
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for delayed release of additional ingredients including additional propellant within a pressurized dispensing container. A reserve container within the primary product container is constructed to open or rupture as a result of a predetermined degree of depressurization of the primary container to release its contents and repressurize the primary container to enable subsequent ejection of product. A catalytic activation system is disclosed as one possible application of this invention.

  • Patent number: 3990755
Abstract: A holder for toothbrush including an elongated upright tubular body of an internal diameter to slidably receive the brush portion of the toothbrush and having, intermediate its length, an integral internal circumferential shoulder, the lower surface of the shoulder being tapered conically upwardly to a reduced internal diameter of a dimension to slidably receive the handle portion of the toothbrush and to receive, with some resistance, the brush portion of a toothbrush, such that when the brush portion is forced upwardly through the reduced internal diameter the brush portion is retained within the holder where it is protected. When the user wishes to withdraw the toothbrush, the handle portion is pulled downwardly, pulling the brush portion back through the restriction. The upper surface of the reduced internal diameter portion is a horizontal circumferential ledge which assists in retaining the brush in the stowed position.
